Thom Rainer

Hi gang. I am so excited over the decision of our Presidential Search Committee concerning their decision to recommend to the full board Dr. Thom S. Rainer as the 9th president of LifeWay. The committee did a fantastic job in praying over these months and carefully considering many candidates. They actually had a covenant together to pray one hour each day throughout this process for God's leadership. I believe God has revealed His will to them in this matter. This decision is a wonderful testimony of the power of concerted and focused prayer. Thom Rainer will do an outstanding job in leading LifeWay with energy, vision and focus.
The committee conducted their business with the highest integrity. This entire process has shown that God can still work in and through us and I am grateful to have watched it unfold. I am also placing on this blog the press release that has just gone out. Thanks for your faithfulness and for our continued efforts together in God's Kingdom.

Dr. Rainer is a proven leader and no soubt an efective evangelist. I am sure he will take on this role with class and dignity. Our payers from the pastoral perspective deals with purity of material allowed on the shelves. God-centered material is what I hope for, not pragmatic, not word-faith, not misleading material. The sheep are too important.
