Gov. Mike Huckabee Photo Shoot for New Summer Book
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee was in Nashville recently for a cover photo shoot for his firthcoming book Character Makes a Difference: Where I'm From, Where I've Been, and What I Believe, releasing July 1st, 2007.
Character Makes a Difference is Mike Huckabee’s biographical account of how he handled that potentially major constitutional crisis and why he believes character is the key issue in everyone’s life, “in the work you do, the candidates you vote for, the people who look to you for leadership.”

Mike Huckabee recently completed more than ten years of public service as governor of Arkansas. In 2005, Governing magazine named him among the Public Officials of the Year, TIME magazine called him one of the five best governors in America, and he received the AARP Impact Award recognizing those who have done something extraordinary to make the world a better place. An outspoken man of Christian faith, Huckabee has also proven to be a leader in health care, education reform, and technology. The former governor is also a musician, playing bass guitar in his rock-and-roll band Capitol Offense. In January 2007, he received the Music for Life Award from NAMM for his outstanding support of music arts and education. Mike and his wife, Janet, have three grown children: John Mark, David, and Sarah.

Congratulations to Taylor Field and Squat
Taylor Field's novel Squat has been chosen as a ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Award finalist in the Religious Fiction category!
Nearly 1,400 books were entered in 59 categories. These were narrowed to 698 finalists, from 419 publishers. The winners will be determined by a panel of librarians and booksellers, selected from our readership. ForeWord’s Book of the Year Awards program was designed specifically for them to share in the process of discovering distinctive books across a number of genres with judgments based on their own authority in each category and on their patron/customer interests.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners, as well as Editor’s Choice Prizes for Fiction and Nonfiction will be announced at a special program at BookExpo America at the Javits Center in New York City, June 1st from 2:30pm at LIVE@ Second Stage located on the main show floor. The winners of the two Editor’s Choice Prizes will be awarded $1,500 each.
