Inside Scoop...on Kay

“She is NOT in her seventies! I think those were my first thoughts upon seeing Kay Arthur in person for the first time. Maybe I was aware of the age thing because it was my birthday and my birthday wish was that I could look as good as Kay Arthur while I’m in my forties!

Kay is so together and…trendy. This woman is relevant and on top of what is happening in our culture. However, the most amazing thing about Kay

is the way she turns every conversation and somehow starts quoting or referring to scripture. One minute you are eating a salad and the next minute the lettuce has turned into a theological discussion or object lesson related to some various passage of scripture. It is wild!

I remember doing my first Precept Inductive Bible study and it “knocking my socks off. About four years after graduating from seminary, I was looking for a Bible study with some “depth, a Bible study that would “challenge me. A friend recommended “Romans—it took two years to complete, but worth all 700 plus days!

I’m not sure if my birthday wish to look as good as Kay will ever come true. But as I continue to study God’s Word, precept upon precept, I have great dreams to one day turn a lunch conversation from lettuce to theological truth!

Let me hear your first impressions on Kay. How have her Precept Bible studies using the Inductive method challenged you and “knocked your socks off?!

I first began Precept Bible studies in 1992 when I dedicated my life back to God, and I've never looked back. There is nothing like studying the Bible inductively! Now I have been through workshops and training, and teaching in my church. I have seen some new "Precept addicts" arise! :) It's a wonderful thing to see the Word of God bring someone alive that has simply been "filling in the blanks" in other studies, and are now on their way to discovering truth for themselves, not through someone else's opinions.

Thank you Kay.. I praise God for all you've shown us in how to study His Word for ourself!

I have not done a precept study, but hope to sometime. My best friend loves them. I did read Israel, My Beloved this summer, and loved it. I know it is a small part of Kay's body of work...but it was awesome!! I had just done Beth's Daniel study this spring and it was familiar material. I had no idea when I purchased the book what it was about or that I would get to hear Kay speak. I look forward to learning more from God through Kay!

I took my 1st precept class, in 1986! I have never been the same! I always new that there had to be "more" to reading the Bible. Through Precept
Ministries and Kay's excellent teaching I learned to "observe, interpret, and apply" God's Word to my daily life. I, too, took the leadership training and have taught many of the Bible studies in homes and churches all these years. Kay is so transparent, and shares her life lessons to the glory of the LORD. She has been a Mentor to me,
and I know millions of other men and women around the world. I look forward to hearing the message God has given her for all of us who attend
Deeper Still. I'm praying God will fill the Sommet
with His Holy Presence as we worship and study
together this weekend.

What a blessing. I would never have thought anything could compare to Beth's Living Proof Live, but this weekend I found 2 more teachers for my walk through God's word. May God bless each of you three ladies. My sister did not get to come this weekend because her granddaughter is in ICU with intense infection and she wouldn't leave her. (Please add her to your prayers) I've already decided to take her to Atlanta next year for this experience. I wish I could afford to take all my women friends. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me know how to feed my hunger for the word.
Worship was mind shattering this weekend as it always is. Watching the 23,000 women singing TO Jesus pierces my heart each time.

I just started my first precept upon precept bible study and what do you know it is in Genesis. It is on who our Father God is and how He created everything. I am awed by what I am learning. In July I went to Deeper still in Atlanta and seen Kay. I want what she has. It is my deepest prayer to love the Word as much or more than she does. It would be a joy to sit and have a cup of coffee with her. I would be all ears. A lot has happened in my life in the past few days and the word and know I have Jesus is what is pulling me through this difficult time. Kay If I could thank you for one thing it would be having the desire to know God deeper. I am learning who My Father is and it's because Kay was that willing vessel. Thanks for going Deeper Still Ladies!!!
