More About Amoebas...

Let's clear one thing up…just because I referred to all of us as one big amoeba, I did NOT intended to say that we are parasites! No one said anything about this so I think you understood my original intent: as women we love community and unity within the body of believers! This unity and community within the local church and Bible studies helps us grow and develop in our faith and leads us deeper still.

However, to really go deeper still with Jesus…in a one-on-one relationship with Him…you need to break away from the amoeba. Matthew 14:23 reminds us that even Jesus dismissed the crowds, pulled away from the amoeba of people, and spent time alone in prayer with the Father. Sisters, if we are committed to going deeper still we must follow Jesus' example.

You may call it prayer time, quiet time, daily devotions, or Jesus time…whatever you call it, the important thing is that you and I spend alone time with our Lord and Savior. Rachel Lovingood, one of the local City Coordinators for the Nashville Deeper Still, wrote some devotions that are printed on pages 30-35 in the Listening Guide/Program you received at the event. If you have not already developed this spiritual discipline of spending time alone with God's Word and in prayer it is time to start!

Let's encourage one another and share valuable tips we've learned in order to make time with Jesus a daily priority. What tips might you have for one of our sisters just getting started?

I have a really hard time memorizing scripture, but SO KNOW the importance of it to make it a living and active thing in my life....A few months ago I started making note cards--for my room, the bathroom, the car, my books, my tv...anywhere that I can find a space. It has helped me tremendously to keep myself focused on Christ throughout the day. Then when you get in that moment of temptation or whatever it is that you need to work on...that scripture has been planted and nurtured in your mind, and can now become a living reality as you daily live it out!! :)

Ex. My biggest struggle has always been self esteem and feeling worthy and valuable. The Lord set me free of MUCH bondage over this back in January at Passion '07 in Atlanta, but the enemy was still waiting when I left the arena just as he had been before. So some of the scripture cards I made were for Ps. 45:11 ("The King is enthralled with your beauty") and Ps. 139 ("I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.")

Hope that helps someone!!!

I have taken 2 Beth Moore classes and loved them and her. I knew about Priscilla and Kay but this was my first time to hear them. It was almost too much for one mind to take in. But they made it an event you leave with "something to chew on" and to move you into a new direction in your walk with the Lord Jesus.

I especially liked the end - the question and answer time. It was so relevant. I hope everyone got as much as I did out of the whole event. And the singing and worship were awsome too !

I incorporate conversation with God throughout my day. I speak to him about the sunrise. I ask Him to guard my children at school. I ask (beg) him to help me find the match to a sock in the never ending pile of socks (I hate sorting and folding socks) and then I thank him over and over when I look down and the match is on top of the pile. I invite Him to come with me to the grocery and on any errands I might have. I invite Him to go on dates with me and hubby. I could go on and on but I think you get the picture.

I have a question...I forgot to turn in my event evaluation. Is there an address I can send it to or is there an online version I could fill out?

Blessings to all...Kim

What great suggestions for going deeper still! One time I heard that Billy Graham kept his Bible open all day and would return to it over and over again...reading the scriptures throughout his day. I took this tip and ran with it! It was a wonderful way to stay saturated in God's Word especially when my children were preschoolers. It probably looked odd to others if they saw my Bible sitting on the dryer in the laundry room or on the kitchen counter like a cookbook...but hey, it worked for me!

What a blessing to hear these three dynamite ladies speak. I first heard Kay speak in January 1980 at Reach Out. Her message is still fresh, powerful and anointed as ever. All three ladies challened me to go "deeper still".
Did you tape these messages and are they available to buy. Today I have gone over my notes and looked up the scripture verses but I would love have the tapes.
Thank you,
Jacquie

Greetings from Chattanooga! My friends and I had such a feeling and renewal from the Lord. I absolutly feel in love with Priscella Friday nite. I know my life will never be the same. I have been a christian for a while but never before have I REALLY felt the spirit of the Lord. I am the mother of four beautiful children. My five year old is Autistic and has several other medical problems. For so long I have prayed that the Lord would heal her, but this weekend I have given her completly back to the Lord and I just pray that his will will be done in her life. My desire is to be like David and to be a woman after God's own heart. By the way my husband was very happy to see me after a weekend with four kids. Thanks for the advice Priscella! He is already wondering when I am going to another event. I truely was blessed thank all of you for the word from God.

The weekend was amazing, His Word was invigorating, His message astonishing, and our three speakers delightful! What an honor to sit at His feet as you all three shared the truth of the life of David and how richly it affects us still today. Thank you each one for your obedience to follow His call in your life and blessing so many of us with such wonderful insight that comes from the anointing on your teaching.

We make notes, and come home to review them but it would be wonderful to be able to purchase Cd's or DVD's of the teaching to use to go over after such a saturating weekend in the Word.

Looking forward to Atlanta!

My quiet time: After confessing my sins and asking the Holy Spirit to speak to my heart, I take 4 or 5 verses and read them slowly 4 times, pausing between each time. As I read, I pay attention to see if any word or phrase seems to jump out at me. That's God speaking to me. Then I reflect on what the words or phrase or verse is saying and ask God to show me what He wants me to do or learn from it. Sometimes I copy it down on a 3x5 card. Sometimes I journal my response. Then I spend time praising God and worshiping Him. I learned to do this from the DVD called BE STILL.

I agree with all the ladies above! Last weekend was so awesome that mere words can not describe it. The Holy Spirit was in that place, and to see roughly 22,000 women praising God, was totally beyond anything I've ever experienced. Talk about experiencing God!
I, too, would like to know if there are tapes or cd's. My notes are extensive, and I have been transferring them to the spiritual guide we received, and reviewing them as I go.
I've done several Bible studies with Beth Moore(at my church) and was very familiar with her. Not so much Kay or Priscilla. Both were so filled with the anointing of the Lord, and both were compelling, along with Beth, to challenge us to go deeper and deeper into the Word. I know the event and being so filled with God's Word, was a life changing experience. I've been saved since I was young and have slipped away when I was a teenager/young woman and God was always there whispering to me, leading me back to Him. He has seen me through thick and thin and is my best Friend. Thank you all, for all you did to put this event on, and for listening to the Lord.
