Trading the Twins
Recently, the LifeWay Women’s Event Team had a training time for the 2008 City Coordinators (the local gals that help as liaisons in the different cities where an event will be held). I was asked to share about the altar calls and the role of the Encouragers. There is one particular point I shared with the City Coordinators that keeps coming to mind and I want to share it with you.
Women come to the altar (and the events) with the full spectrum of prayer requests. One woman will ask for
prayer for her marriage or a child gone astray. Another woman has recently been diagnosed with cancer or another life-threatening illness. Many women have lost a parent, a child, or a loved one. Some women are dealing with an addiction or on-going problems in their work or finances. You get the idea…we all have our prayer requests in one form or another.
However, one thing I’ve noticed through the years is “the twins that come along with the prayer request. I call the twins Fear and Anxiety. Imagine carrying these twins on your hips! Fear pulls at you reminding you of every fall you’ve taken in the past and Anxiety looks for the stumbling blocks expecting another fall any moment. Fear and Anxiety, the twins, they feed off one another and they wear us out. Think about how the twins may be wearing you out as you prepare for Deeper Still. What is causing you to experience fear and anxiety? How are fear and anxiety feeding off one another and challenging you in your spiritual growth?
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. --Romans 15:13 (HCSB)
Ladies, I am praying that the God of hope will fill you with the Holy Spirit until you are overflowing! As you believe and trust our great God of hope, Fear will be traded in for JOY and Anxiety will be traded for PEACE. Let’s keep trading in these twins for the better set! Let’s trade in these twins and get ready to go Deeper Still…
JOY and PEACE,
Michelle

Yesterday during worship, one of our men lead in special prayer for our 37 ladies coming to Deeper Still this weekend. We are all so pumped and ready for a blessing far above what we could ever ask or imagine! You can feel the excitement in the air here. Many of our ladies are meeting Thursday evening for special prayer for Beth, Priscilla and Kay as well as the other 20 thousand plus women who will be there. Can't wait to see you and experience what God is going to do amoung us!!
God bless!

I just wanted to comment on the fear and anxiety that seems to hit us when we want to come down for prayer but we don't because we are afraid to make the walk to a complete stranger to open our hearts up for prayer. I just want to say that I have been praying for every person who needs prayer to have the courage to come forth. There is power in prayer and God has the power to change any circumstance, addiction, etc.... the enemy wants us to stay in our seats and keep our prayer requests to ourselves but God's Word says in Matthew 18:18-20 that if two of you agree down here on earth about anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together because they are mine, I am there among them. I am an encourger at this event and I pray that if God moves you to come down for prayer that you will have the courage to do so and the expectancy that God hears you and loves you and that God will change your situations around for you good in a way that brings glory to God!! With God ALL things are possible. See you next week.
