Last Minute Reminders
I'm not sure if the this is a good habit or an obsessive need, but every time my family prepares for a vacation, camp, or any kind of trip...I create a checklist. Sometimes it is handwritten, but it ALWAYS has the little boxes before each item to "check off." OK, sometimes we just scratch things out, but still, the checklist is a must!
Well, of course, of thought of a few things for you to add to your "checklist."
Don't forget--
- Bible and pen. In all the packing and repacking, it is sometimes what we forget!
- Any medicines you may need. Carry prescriptions in your purse. Yes, I know I sound like your grandmother. But you never know what delays or change of plans may take place, especially if you are with a group.
- Cellphone AND charger. Unless you have a fantastic phone, you will probably need to charge it on Friday night. And trust me, you want your phone working on Saturday for an all day event. Before the event begins, before you arrive at Philips Arena, exchange phone numbers with several in your group and go ahead and program them into your phone.
- Identify the group leader. If you are with a church or large group, there will be someone serving as the group leader. She will suggest meeting spots, times to reconnect if the group separates, etc. Make sure you have her cellphone number and look to her for direction. Even if you are only with two other people, you may want to trade off being "the group leader!"
- On Friday night when you arrive at Philips Arena, if you want a boxed lunch for Saturday, find the appropriate tables on the concourse, prepay for your boxed lunch and get your lunch voucher.
- Also, on Friday night and Saturday morning look for the large storyboards on the concourse, Be sure and write your thoughts and prayers on the boards about how you want God to take you Deeper Still this weekend.
- Cash. Make sure you have a little cash on hand for any tips with luggage handlers at the airport and hotels. Cash is sometimes easier for the concessions at the arena or street vendors in downtown areas. You also need cash for vending machines in the hotels for those late night snacks!
What else have I forgotten? Trusting you to fill in the gaps on our checklist with your comments! See you in TWO DAYS!

Thanks for thinking for us, Michelle, in a busy week and sharing your expertise. Here's a couple of other things I emailed to folks yesteray.
Doors will open at 5:30 PM on Friday night .
Concessions and Bookstore will be open before the event starts, during breaks, lunch etc.
Box lunches will be pre-sold on Friday beginning at Noon at the Box Office. Leave someone in line and go purchase for your group.
Read all the information on your registration material
Any registration or will call needs will be served at the Will Call area, outside near the box office.
Make sure you are in your seat by about 6:45 PM. You won't want to miss the new opening of the event at 6:58 PM. It's a big surprise!!!
Great things to bring with you are....smiles, patience, love in your heart, all your hurts and disappointments, great joy, everything about who you are.
Can't wait to see you all there and oh, I almost forgot....bring a light jacket in case it's cool for you.
Love you all, Betsy

I can hardly wait...I attended Deeper Still in Nashville; at that time, I was expecting my second son & my family was going through a difficult & scary time concerning the health of my neice. God did an amazing work in my heart in Nashville...He knew what was ahead. My baby boy "Isaac Allen" died at 36 weeks in March. If God had not taught me what He did at Deeper Still, I would not be able to bear the grief I have & am experiencing. I would greatly appreciate it if you would let Beth, Priscilla, & Kay know I have been praying for them & for myself that God would again meet me in my time of great storm. Thank you.

Great questions Deborah! My best advice is go to the Philips Arena website www.philipsarena.com and look at the link for parking and directions. I think they have all the information you need. If not call their box office to find out the costs of different parking lots around the arena.

But you can not forget the CAMERA!
I love to document my time with the ladies and all the fun we have while at these conferences :)
And you will need to bring a JACKET/SWEATER
It is usually super COLD :)
Oh and TISSUES b/c I always cry and then my nose runs b/c it is cold - LOL
Enjoy!
BTW: where will the special needs entrance be?
And do they still get in a few minutes early?
My mom has a degenerative hip disease and she can not stand for very long so I was going to have her come later and meet me at the arena and then I remembered the Special needs entrance.
Praying for all of you
