What NOT to Wear!
I'm not sure how many of you have actually started your packing for Deeper Still: The Event in Atlanta...there are still 23 more shopping days available if you want to get a new outfit! However, if you are beginning to check your closet for what you will pack for this Christian women's event...here are a few things NOT to wear!

1. The warm winter coat and hat--It will be HOT in Atlanta by the end of June. Leave the warm coats and jackets at home! However, you my want to have a light sweater or jacket for inside Philips Arena...sometimes the arenas can be cool, especially early on Saturday morning before everyone arrives.

2. Stilettos--No matter how fabulous they look on your feet, you do NOT want to wear high heels for this weekend! There will be stairs, walking, concrete floors, walking, standing in line....did I mention walking? Please force yourself to wear comfortable shoes or bring an extra pair of flip flops stuffed in your purse!

3. Your Prom Dress--First of all, I can't even fit into my old prom dress. (And no that is NOT my ugly prom dress above!) It was passed on to Good Will long ago. But, if it did fit, Deeper Still: The Event is not the place I would wear it! The ladies at this Christian women's event dress for comfort. However, comfort does not mean they don't look cute!
These are just a few tips to help you as you pack in the coming weeks. As we women do, please feel free to share what you will be wearing to the event in Atlanta--I wonder how many of you will be wearing super cute capri pants and sandals!

Silly Michelle...
Don't you know that WE know that the standard issue dress for Deeper Still and LPL events is:
1. Capri pants
2. Hot Pink or Bright Green Church Logo t-shirts with "Deeper Still or Bust" on the front and Hebrews 4:12 on the back OR a specialty t-shirt that is made with a 1991 picture of Beth and her big hair...with an extra one to give to her, of course!
3. Comfy sandals or athletic shoes
4. Frosty Lipstick
5. Claw Clip to pull your hair back like Beth on Day 2.
6. 10 lb Life Application Bible that looks like it has gone through the Washing Machine a time or two.
I'm sure I'm missing something, but surely in all of his pictures Rich has taken one that exemplifies the true blue DS/LPL attendee!
:)
You make me laugh!!! See you in Atlanta in a little over 3 weeks!!!
Blessings and strength to you,
Dori

And you make me laugh Patty...keep that Siesta Fiesta blog doing the "salsa" during this busy time! San Antonio LPL is not that far away!

ROFL..... LOL I was just talking with my cousin a few days ago about what we should wear. I do like to plan ahead of time, although I usually procrastinate and pack furiously the night before leaving (or a few hours before). I'm glad to hear that causal wear is suggested. And flip flops....I'm all over that one !

LOL at the mention of the 1991 pic of Beth with her big hair. So was this around the time of the first taping of Breaking Free? (just trying to get a visual of the hair)

Funny post! I was actually thinking about what I will wear:) You better believe I'll be wearing capris, but the shirt and shoes choices for the weekend-that's a hard decision!:) Comfortable, yet cute shoes...who can find those?

Justa note: About the "flip flops" ladies, consider this.
Two weeks ago at VBS with our tropical theme, flip flops a natural, right? Well maybe NOT, if you are over 30 [or 25] I noticed with a lot of running around and up and down steps and stairs the cute as can be flip flops did not always feel secure..started removing them as I traveled up and down stairs.
I came to the conclusion flip flops could be a safety issue..for what it's worth..
[but then, I'm 67 yrs old too!]
See ya in Atlanta!

Great tip Jonell! I think some of those feet were from an event in Southern California--San Diego LPL girls, which explains the number of flip flops! It will be hot in Atlanta, but inside the arena it is usually very comfortable (and sometimes even cool). So, some of you ladies, take Jonell's advice and leave the flip flops at home!

Emily,
Check the ticket exchange page on the Deeper Still blog for available tickets. Also, you may want to call Events Registration at LifeWay 1-800-254-2022 to see if any cancellation tickets are still available. Hope to see you there!
