Land of 10,000 Lakes

Florida is the "sunshine" state, Texas is the "lone star" state, and Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes. Who knew there were this many lakes in Minnesota?! Maybe 10,000 malls, including Mall of America--but never 10,000 lakes! From the moment we landed in Minneapolis to prepare for Living Proof Live with Beth Moore this weekend--we saw water...everywhere! I'm not kidding...there were several lakes by the airport and then regardless of where we drove throughout the city we saw more water. What does one state need with so many lakes!?

And then I began to meet the people. I can't speak for all of Minnesota, but the people in the twin cities area of Minneapolis/St. Paul are so kind...but also, like every city, so in need of God. Even with so much "water" surrounding this area...the people here are thirsty. No matter how much they swim, water ski, sail, boat or take in the beauty of these lakes--they are still going to have an unquenchable thirst. Not even 10,000 lakes will quench the thirst they have...because this thirst will only be met by God.

I thought of John 4 this morning where Jesus meets the woman at the well. In verse 13 "Jesus said, 'Everyone who drinks from this water will get thirsty again. But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again--ever! In fact, the water I will give him will become a well of water springing up within him for eternal life." (John 4:13-14, HCSB)

Sisters, I am asking you to join us in prayer as we drink deep from the well of God this weekend at Living Proof Live in Minneapolis. We don't know all the needs of the women coming for this Christian women's event but God does. And I can just bet that whatever you are going through right now in your life, there will be a woman here this weekend going through the same type of thing. Would you please pray for her?

Also, pray for Travis Cottrell and the Praise team as they lead us in worship this weekend. Pray that we will be true worshipers and will worship the Father "in spirit and truth." (John 4:23-24) Please pray that it will be a time of true worship and ministry of God's word that will change women just like those changed at Deeper Still: The Event in Atlanta. I'm asking God that for this time, instead of 10,000 lakes, Minneapolis might be known as a land of 10,000 worshipers!

Our small membership is interested in obtaining the lessons taught in Atlanta June 27th & 28th. We aren't funded to have one of your honored speakers bring the lessons to us but the reviews have been fantastic! We currently have an interim pastor and are in a transition phase in which our membership is dropping steadly. If we could have such a lesson for our ladies, perhaps we could bring some of our members 'back home' and they would benefit from such inspirational messages. Currently, we have one of Beth Moore's Bible Studies on Tuesday evening but due to circumstances beyond my control, I have been unable to attend this one. Our teacher is on fire for the Lord and a worthy leader for our ladies. I feel she would be excellent to teach Deeper Still since we cannot afford Kay Arthur, Beth Moore and Priscilla Shirer. Your assistance would be appreciated and if you would quote me the cost of the information on Deeper Still, I will determine if our fellowship can afford to purchase it for our next Bible Study.
Thank you for any assistance you can give our sweet congregation.
In Christ,

Hi Jan,

The Deeper Still Atlanta lessons currently are not being published into a Bible study format. We are trying to work out something between LifeWay and Precept Ministries to create an audio (CD) of Kay Arthur's message. Hope to give you more info on that later.

You can purchase the Deeper Still Nashville lessons in a Bible study format through www.lifeway.com or at your local LifeWay Christian Bookstore.
