Olympic Roll Call!

How many of you watched the Opening Ceremonies for the 2008 Olympics on Friday night? It is always amazing to me to see the parade of athletes waving their flags and dressed in traditional costumes or colors representing their nation! I can't help but envision an incredible worship service to come described in Revelation 5:9...

And they sang a new song:
You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals; because You were slaughtered, and You redeemed people for God by Your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation.

Can't you just see the celebration of Olympic-sized proportions?!

As we continue to countdown to Deeper Still: The Event in Las Vegas, we need to have another roll call. In addition to those who will be attending the Las Vegas event, I would love for all of you to respond and just share something you love about your church, your city, your state, or country!

Let's have an Olympic-sized roll call so we can get a taste of Revelation 5:9 and celebrate the redeemed Christian women of every tribe and language and people and nation who love Jesus and are going deeper still in relationship with Him today!

Let me just give a huge shout of praise...Our God is bigger than anything going on in my personal life. Our church is having our opening weekend at our new campus this weekend. We know that it is nothing short of God's hand that we are able to be in the building this soon! (42 weeks from breaking ground!) Lives are going to be changed, because we, as His church body, are reaching out to others. Oh, I pray the same thing for Deeper Still: Vegas...that we, as His church body of sisters, will reach out to those that we see in Vegas that need Him so badly!

Michelle,
I love my church, World Outreach Church, the title is fitting because that is what this church does, reaches out to the world and the city we live in. They have a true servants heart for all people. I enjoy the praise and worship and our pastor brings the Word, has a dry sense of humor and is a man of prayer as is the entire church. They have a group of people who meet every day at 6:00 in the morning for prayer. The men in the church amaze me in the fact that they love God and are not ashamed to show it, men who take vacations to serve at the summer camp at our church for the children, we have over 400 volunteers for the children's ministry, they make a point and a way for us to leave praise reports on a card which I think is so important, to remember to praise and thank God for his blessings and answered prayer. Our church wraps presents at the mall for free at Christmas time for anyone who stops by, at Easter we move the services to M.T.S.U. so the whole community can come to church if they want to and the extent they go to protect the children and provide fun things for them is just amazing and lastly, 2 weeks ago they baptized 600 people. I could go on and on but I am so thankful that God led us to this church and we may be a big church but it has the feel of a small church. Thanks for asking this question and allowing me to brag on my church.
Please pray for my church as we broke ground to build a 4th sanctuary and new children's wing.
Have a great week!
Blessings,
Patty

What I love about the church I attend is its unshakeable belief in restoration - complete restoration. The people here believe that every one has the ability to "mess up big time;" but that when one repents, God forgives completely. That forgiven completely is just that - never to be remembered by God or man. How beautiful! What if all the body functioned that way? Would more prodigals return if they saw, in action, true forgiveness and restoration?

In His love and hope,
Karan

Karan--What a blessing to read about your church! What if all the body of Christ functioned that way is right--can you imagine! Praying all who read about your church today will be inspired to share a loving and forgiving Savior with those who need Him!

I am shouting it out with Amanda! Great things He hath done!!! This is a phenomenal week for our 90,000 sq foot facility to start the beginning of the harvest! I have witnessed the hand of God moving mightily among His people over the last 23 years in this congregation, molding and changing me along the way. Thank you God Almighty! Vegas is greatly anticpated as we had tickets to Atlanta but premature birth of little Lucas diverted our attendance. Cannot wait to see what God has in store for us!
