This was my first time at any type of event like this. I was so incredibly moved to tears almost the entire weekend. I just got home to my hometown of St. George, Utah. And there were many other ladies there from Utah, which surprised me, because Utah does have a lot of Mormons, so I was excited to see all o the Christians from Utah come to this event. I am a new member of the Christian world, I was LDS for 40 years of my life. I thank God every day that I was able to leave the Mormon church. It wasn't easy, but it was worth it, to learn more about God as Christians do. The LDS faith does not teach much about God at all. They center their faith about their profit Joseph Smith, which really is a false profit.

I love being with these women of such a great faith, and my hat is off to the music and the 3 women Beth, Prscilla , and Kay. What an AWESOME group of women. And how they found their lives intertwined together is beyond me. But so so glad I was a part of it.

I attended the conference in Las Vegas with my best friend. We both had an amazing and blessed time, but both walk away with one question. We are both your typical suburban girls. Raised by both parents, graduated high school, then college, married, then babies. No catastrophic life changing event, just pretty much even keel all the way. What we want to know is, can we ever really trust, love, and know God without a major life event happening. There was a constant theme of letting God in at your weakest moment, looking up when your flat on your back, really trusting His plan. Even, the path you've lead isn't the one you've pictured. My path is, and always has been, jsut how i pictured it. I guess I fear that "event" in my life that will make me hit my knees, almost like i'm waiting for it to srike. should i be fearing the Impending Domb or could this just be what God has in store for me, and is my gracious heart enough for Him to know my love, need, trust in Him. I feel like someday He is going to "test me." I do consider myself blessed and am eternally grateful for what i have been given, but feel too lucky. I would appreciate any insight you might have. Thank you again for what you do!!

This weekend I was both honored and privileged to have experienced the Deeper Still Women's Conference here in Las Vegas. I am a faithful member at Remnant Ministries where Felicity Cunningham (our first lady) and DeeDee Stansberry ('Women's ministry organizer) brought together the beautiful women of our ministry to come and feast upon the precious word. I will treasure the many memories I made this weekend. For starters, the women of our ministry are my true sisters. I love each and every one of them in a unique way. We came together in the spirit of unity in Section 7 at Thomas and Mack (even our section was in God's perfection!) and worshipped with the awesome praise team. I turned 40 on September 5th and the greatest gift that day was hearing the word brought by Priscilla. Though full of baby, she was also full (to the point of running over) of God's word. She spilled over onto each of us in a way that left us all amazed as she defined who God was in each book of the bible! She recanted a story that most women who have been with child can associate with. Forgive me as I attempt to paraphrase it:

Priscilla, husband and two boys went to eat breakfast at the Cracker Barrell. They returned home with a take-home box containing breakfast food... breakfast ham and a pancake. The box remained on the counter throughout the day as the family went about their business. Later that night (much later) that "I gotta eat -- NOW!" feeling came over Priscilla. As she tipped downstairs, she had the take-out box on her mind. Long story short, someone threw the box way. The bionic instinct that pregnant women are gifted with kicked in and Priscilla was able to locate the food – at the bottom of the trash! As that ravenous I gotta eat now feeling consumed her, she consumed the food. Midway through the food it occurred to her that she was eating out of the trash. We all enjoyed the humor of this story as many of us without admitting it, have done far worse to scratch that itch. When Priscilla became serious and asked how many of us have settled for trash, the truth that most of us have hit us all simultaneously. Before guilt could set in, Priscilla reminded us of God's ability to reconcile us to himself even after we have gone dumpster diving is His desire. I left Thomas and Mack asking what more I could do to be closer to God.

Day Two. Again the praise service was incredible as we ushered in the presence of the Lord. In a stadium that features metal concerts, rodeos and sporting events, the Spirit of the Lord took over and consumed every ill residue left behind by the enemy. Kay Arthur brought what proved to be a very uncomfortable yet most dire word for this day and time. With her theme beginning and ending in Jeremiah, the message was clear … we as children of God need to LISTEN! He is speaking to us but how many of us are truly listening to what he is saying. The failure to know His voice is causing us to miss the mark in more ways than one. He has a word for each of us... have you heard from the Lord?

I will always remember Kay's contribution to my daughter's voting destiny. Tiffany turned 19 this past May. She will vote for the first time this November. I have been a conservative since I was 18. I raised her with the same core values I have known and assumed she would also be a conservative. Much to my surprise, she announced nine months ago that she didn't know which party she would vote for and that she would carefully digest everything from both parties before deciding her vote. I gave her many reasons why she should vote republican but she wasn't having any of it. She is stubborn and declared her vote was her own and she would do it HER WAY ! Well, it seems God had another plan altogether. After Kay discussed two very strong examples of where McCain voted in line with our Godly principles, Tiffany looked at me and announced she knew who her party was. She will be one more vote for the man who has protected our right to free speech. Thank you, Kay.

During our lunch break, the fine women of Remnant Ministries came together under a tree for a wonderful tailgate party sponsored by one of our dear sisters, Yvette. Her presentation was elaborate (cloth napkins, fresh fruit and mango tea!) She served us as if we were in a fine dining establishment. If you could have seen my face when the women (approximately 40 – 45) surrounded me and with DeeDee marching toward me with candles burning bright atop a cake, they sang happy birthday to me. To me. I have spent much of my life feeling very unloved, yet way too proud to say anything about it. I have learned to plaster a look on my face that says "I'm okay." In fact, I have been broken for many years. Molestation, violent rape, physically abuse at the hands of the ones I was supposed to trust the most, and then rejection by society, left me with little to know self esteem. I only wish I could express to you how I felt as my sisters in Christ sang happy birthday to me. To me! I am still overwhelmed with the emotion of this.

Returning from lunch, we were treated to yet more amazing praise and worship right before I witnessed what I think should be a TV talk show in production immediately. Kay, Beth and Priscilla did a little Q&A. These three women whom I never knew before this weekend became women I could relate to. Their wisdom was something I sat on the edge of my seat to absorb. From how to manage a career and a household, to how to be good – really good to our husbands, we were taught the truth from perspectives that ran the gamut of 33 to 74. For those in attendance, you will understand when I say I will be tip-toeing to bed a little more often! (smile)

Finally, Beth brought forth the word from John 1:14. Yes, she provided many more bible references, but our primary focus was John 1:14. She didn't open the word before having an altar call to all that wanted to repent. I wept uncontrollably because I wanted to be on the ground level repenting with the rest of then. Tiffany (my daughter) made her way downstairs to repent. I wept more as I watched her work her way down the stairs. I knew what thousands of the people didn't know about this girl who struggled at each step. You see, she was nearly killed by a drunk driver on March 3, 2007. Then she was a college freshman and excited about her future. Her plans involved a lot of HER ideas… none of God's. We got into it for months about her desire to move out once she became legal. Her being hit changed all of her plans,. Three brain surgeries and multiple surgeries to correct broken bones, Tiffany is well on the road to recovery. She suffers from chronic pain, and because of a titanium rod and multiple pinks used to hold her leg together, walking is a painful exercise. Imagine my joy when she pushed past me to get downstairs and repent!! She has what she didn't have before March 3, 2007 – an intimate one on one relationship with Jesus. She no longer had to go through me for prayers to be answered. Beth's altar call brought Tiffany down several stairs and to my amazement down to her knees! God is good!

Beth continued to minister the unadulterated word of God, as she taught us a bit of sign language. We learned so much!

Though the conference is over, my prayer is that I will continue to go deeper still as I battle esteem issues, abandonment issues, immoral deeds, and guilt for spending most of my life at work than with my children. I will always remember the day God called me to minister in a women's ministry. My prayer is that I can finally be off the religious roller coaster so I can actually answer that call. The women of Remnant will embark on our new bible class starting this Tuesday. The theme ---- you guessed it – DEEPER STILL! The journey we started on September 5th will continue on beginning this week. What a triumphant way to start my 40th year!

Good bless you Kay, Beth and Priscilla. I pray you will remember me and the women of Remnant as you go deeper into your ministry. We will continue to pray for you all. For those thinking about attending one of their conferences –- don't think any further. You must make arrangements to attend this conference. You will be blessed to go deeper still.

I love you all.

I woke up Thursday morning with an encounter of vertigo.. never before experienced. Was canceling my trip I had planned for me and my three friends - they would go without me. My husband encouraged me to go - he said he felt like there was a Word for me there and boy was there!

I have been a student of Kay Arthur's for some time - she has been my mentor - I realize she does not personally know of this relationship but it truly exists for me. I have learned so much from participating in the Precept Study of the Book of Revelation as well as studying through "How to Study the Bible". I feel a true kindred spirit with my sister - the Lord has made me to love TRUTH! I have been on a journey for the past year of how to love Truth with whole heart, mind and soul without losing the love for people . God is so gracious to me.

I led my first Beth Moore - Breaking Free - at our church these past 13-weeks and saw women's lives truly BREAK FREE from life-long bondage - what a celebration! I have known of the studies and have always heard truly life-changing stories - I had just not encountered it for myself. What a true blessing to sit ring-side to God's Glory through Words divinely inspired through your personal journey.

The anointing of the Holy Spirit within each of you was truly AWE-mazing! Each of us walked away Saturday with an absolute Spiritual overload! I am still finding it difficult to put all of the pieces together.

Of this I am clear - what He laid on my heart from this weekend I will do with great passion and obedience. Excited and humbled that He would use a sinner like me!

I encourage anyone reading this who did recieve a Word - don't lose the excitement, don't lose the passion - the Creator of our souls gave that assignment to YOU. He loves you that much.

God Bless You!

Brandi we are so thankful your husband encouraged you to come to Deeper Still. It is amazing the tactics the enemy uses to distract us from God's Word and our relationship with Jesus. So, glad God blessed your efforts to attend even though you may not have felt physically at your best.

Also, great resources of Kay Arthur listed from your experience in her Bible studies. Check them out ladies as you go deeper still!

Jamie,

You are so precious and a good question many others may be asking as well. I think there are many "typical suburban girls" out there walking in obedience to God daily. They may not have catastrophic, immediate life-change experiences in their walk with God, but instead have consistent, steady growth over time. When difficulties and challenges come, they are already in a place of dependence and trust upon Jesus. So the "life changing" events don't seem like a complete transformation. However, that does not mean He is not transforming us.

One of the biggest things I've learned personally in my walk with God is that we can to choose to walk with God or without Him. It seems the valleys are not as low or the "wilderness" years don't seem quite as long when we are walking with Him daily.

I don't think you should be "waiting for some impending doom" but simply walk with Him daily...in faithfulness and trust. Remember your own personal salvation experience and when you gave your heart and life to Jesus.Thank Him for His hand of protection and His mercy. Read 1 Peter 2:1-10.

1 Peter 2:7 begins with, "So the honor is for you who believe;" Continue to believe in God's great plans and purposes for you, Jamie. Never turn back! Choose Him daily! Verse 9 continues and I will summarize--you are part of God's people so that you may proclaim His praise. Praise Jesus because He has called you to live in His Light and for eternity! Enjoy His favor and blessing Jamie with a grateful heart! And every time you eat, you drink, you speak, you breath...remember Him and all that He has done and is doing for you!

Deeper Still bloggers--what other scripture would you share with Jamie related to her question?

Cara--may God bless you as you walk with Him in TRUTH as a new believer. I can't encourage you enough to get into the Word of God daily if you are not already. And if you have not, remove any LDS books or resources from your home. (And although it may sound harsh, burn them if possible so false teaching does not fall into the hands of others.) Trust God's Word, the Holy Bible, as the Truth and Source of Authority for your life. I know God will bless you and His Holy Spirit will teach you TRUTH!

And as you stated in your comment (related to false teachings of Joseph Smith)--don't base your faith or trust in God upon a person (or his or her teachings). Place your faith in Jesus Christ alone, God's Word (John 1:1-2, 14)

One statement that Kay Arthur makes over and over (and I hope I get it right) Trust the Bible, the Word of God, it is the very words of God to us. May your faith and love for God's Word grow at a tremendous speed (to make up for those 40 years) as you go deeper still!

All,
I wanted to say Blessed be to God! I brought my 12 year daughter with me to the conference and WOW! My daughter was so excited and encouraged by the teachings of Priscilla on Friday! My Daughter was taking NOTES! (She never does that.) She was discouraged at first because she thought she was the only youngster but quickly forgot about this when Priscilla started teaching! At the end of the night, she openly said "Mom, I learned a lot tonight. Thank you for bringing me." I am amazed at how God has worked in her life. I just pray that the fire God put in her heart will not go out. My daughter learned more as the event went on but she has been talking about Priscilla since we left. Thank you Priscilla for helping my daughter realize just how important God is in our lives. She truly was blessed!

I was equally amazed by the teachings of all three ladies. I only knew of Beth - having done a few of her studies. What a wonderful weekend and many thanks to the Praise Team & our Teachers!

God Bless
Christine

Michelle,

Wow! Thank You very much for your advise. I know I have a lot to learn and I am so thirsty for the knowledge of God, to dwell within me at all times. I had attended the conference with a dear friend of mine Kathy, she is the one who led me away from the LDS church as she did herself about 8 years ago. Because of this great sister/friend, she has led me, my husband, my three teenage boys, my mother, mother-in-law and many other family members to follow, out of a false religion. What a blessing that is. There are no words to really explain my deep heart felt thanks to my friend Kathy. I do know that God was leading her and helping me to stop, and listen to the truth. We were always taught to NOT do any research into our own religion, or we would be damned, so I never did. But thank God for the Holy Spirit.

The LDS faith is very difficult to leave, because a person usually ends up being dis-owned by a lot of friends and family members, and I know I have a few that have dis-owned me, but the word of God is more important than all of that kind of drama.

So I just want to say that I am so completely excited to Go Deeper Still now and forever. I am changing my entire work schedule, TODAY, and other things, so that I can go to Bible study, and do my own reading and studying by using my time more wisely at home. Wow! It's hard to believe some times how much power one person has, like my friend Kathy, to encourage and help one person do something amazing, and now I can help my family, and hopefully many others to come, by being an example that God will be proud of. Thank You from the bottom of my heart to these blessed ladies of the conference and to the music team. I cried so much this weekend, listening and worshiping through music and the faith of these 3 women. I will go now and be a changed and better Christian. I love you all.

The Lord used the worshipful music of Travis Cottrell and the Praise Team and the gifted teaching of Priscilla, Kay, and Beth to drive me deeper still in my relationship with Him. I'm just tickled pink I have a Savior who is Just. Not only does He convict me and bring me to my knees in repentance but He loves me so much He calls me His own. I am royalty, a princess. And I didn't do anything to deserve it. The more I know Him the more I want to know Him. My Almighty Counselor, Prince of Peace gives me the strength and shield I need to make it through the call from sin. God provides me with the wisdon and everlasting courage to endure this time and season I'm in, but He, as my fountian bringing a revival from the curse of sin satan has brought to my family. Christ is my faithful Shepherd and I will come when He calls me.
Having the priviledge to see 3 of the greatest Bible teachers overwhelm me. Priscilla, you made me reach deeper within myself and taught me to listen for Gods voice and also to press into Him when at all times. Kay, You are dynamite, God wants America back under his eagles wings, I'll do my part. You have inspired me to learn all 66 books of the Bible not just the ones I need in the times of trouble. Beth, you have opened my eyes to how much God loves me and how far He goes to make me understand that. I Love you all, You will never know how much I needed this conference. I will never be the same- but will continue to go Deeper Still. Thank you isn't enough.

Cara--Your sweet friend Kathy is such an awesome example of how one person can make a difference in the lives of others! As you continue to grow and follow God, compare everything you hear and are taught against the very words of God, the Bible. Even Kay, Beth, and Priscilla would tell you to compare and check every word they teach with the Bible. Make sure you have a translation of the Bible in English that is taken from the original Greek and Hebrew languages--not simply a paraphrase. Although it is fine to read from the different paraphrase versions, always compare them with a version of the Bible that is closest to the original languages and context. What version of the Bible do you have now?

Michelle,

I do have a King James Version which I purchased in a local Christian Book Store printed by Thomas Nelson Publishers in Nashville. I threw out my old Bible which says "King James Version" and is revised by special command. Whatever that means, is questionable. It was printed in Salt Lake City by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. And it has references that refer to the Book of Mormon and the other books that the LDS church has created. When this was pointed out to me, I threw it out and ran as fast as I could to the Christian Book store to buy a new one. A real one.

I have read several books about Mormonism, and the experiences of leaving this church, they are "scarry" stories of what people have gone through. But you just have to be strong and believe in Christ that he will help you. One book in particular is "No Man Know's My History." By Fawn McKay Brodie. Everyone who reads this book, usually leaves the mormon faith, and that is how powerful one person can be.

So thanks again, to the three special women of this conference, they have changed my life dramatically, along with God and I will remember this moment forever, as my life changing day. Amen.

Cara,
Since the King James Version is used by Mormons, you may want to consider having another version of the Bible as well...one that gives you a clean break away from the false teachings in your past. Just something to think about. Do you mind if I email you about this? I have several translations to recommend.

Life is so great here in Utah, and the people are very nice don't get me wrong, but their beliefs are just so messed up, I know because I was there to and just so thankful that I got out. Whew!!

I loved this event except for one thing. I love the United States. I love the fact that I can worship in a coffee shop and I won't be arrested. I love that my voting record is personal and private. I had to leave during Kay Arthur's sermon because I do not vote the same way she wants us to and I don't feel guilty about it. I don't think that being a Christian means being a Republican. Our country is founded on freedom of speech, and also separation of church and state. Find me a country that is a Christians only country that works and then I will believe it is better than America now!! I believe I am a Christian, that I love Jesus, no matter what my voting record. My friends told me Kay's sermon was great, and I wish she would have left the John McCain stuff until the end, so I could have heard what she had to say!!
