Ed- if you aren't familiar with the Search Institute (I think they are located in Minneapolis) you might want to check out their research and surveys. Though a secular group they focus on teens and pre-adolescents. We've used their survey in our community- through our school district and a collaboration of several community and government groups. Interesting-
