It has been nice to be off the road for a while. But, all holidays must come to an end... including holidays from travel. Today, I am at the NoBA meeting at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. They have over 100 leaders, from around the country, attending. It should be a good event. They have a great diversity of breakouts as well. Associations are regional partnerships of churches that tend to focus on local (city, county, etc.) missions. Many associations have been rethinking their identity and purpose. I will be speaking on how regional partnerships like this can help encoruage their churches to engage, reach, and serve their communities. Thanks for your teaching at the NoBA meeting today, Ed! Grateful for the ways God is using you to mobilize the Church, and those of us who encourage and equip the churches, for the missional task.
I agree with Bob.
I did not get a chance to tell you at the meeting that I was baptized at FBC, Hendersonville 37 years ago. We moved from there during my 6th grade year, but the church was very important to my early spiritual formation.
I hope you have a wonderful ministry there.
Tkx for challenging the NoBA group to be missional catalyst. As we seek to be resourcing associational churches toward effective ministry, your words will give us great direction.
Ed:
It is extremely refreshing to hear you. I am DOM of a The Northeast Florida Baptist Association which is a small association north of Jacksonville. We have had you at our DOM retreat in Florida, I heard you at the SBC in TX and the session at No AB were great! Hope you are recovering ok! May God continue to bless you in your ministry!
