The Bible says we should be slow to speak. Good idea. Something I said on Twitter while watching the RNC was picked up by Brian Ayers - and he is encouraging me to run for office in 2012 with Sarah Palin. It's probably a good match in some ways, though I am afraid she would beat me in a hunting contest.
But we do share a sense of style. It looks like we shop at the same store for our glasses (Lenscrafters, I am guessing). But I'm not sure where Brian get's the idea that I am smaller than Palin. And why am I hiding behind her?
Missionaries
When some people think of international and cross cultural missionaries they conjure up unrealistic images super-saints. Here's a video that shows a more honest picture of those who have gone into West Africa; who they were before life on the mission field, and who they are now.

BTW: If you know an SBC-affiliated 20 something guy or gal, the West Africa mission has a fully-funded (insured and salaried) 2 year mission experience with their name on it! (They have a real need for guys especially because in some of the cultures in Africa guys can go places women are not allowed.)

Apparently you haven't been following the latest bunch of Sarah Palin jokes - very similar to Chuck Norris jokes. That would probably explain why you would hide behind her and be smaller. :)

Ed, Thanks for linking to the video. It reminds me that God can and does use anybody. It also encourages me.

I'm with the International Mission Board in West Africa. I wanted to respond to Jason's comment and let everyone know we'd love to have more families with kids come serve here - we're looking for people of all ages, married or not married! Check out www.gowestafrica.org/go to explore our opportunities for service.

Hey Ed
I laughed so hard when I saw the Palin/Stetzer button. I would vote for you!!
As for the West Africa gig - is that Journeyman? Is there a requirement of finishing the college degree? Aaron would love this and needs it, but not through with school. I think it would help him define some life goals.

Kathryn,
If I was on the ticket with anyone, it would be a sign of the complete failure of the society and government. Grin.
I don't know about Aaron, but I know they have lots of info at www.gowestafrica.org/go. Check it out... and email me if you need more info.

Where do I pick up my yard sign?
Ed, all you have to do to get people to vote for you is to tell your Cheez-It story. Then we would know you were a just a regular guy like us.

There are short-term (one month to several months) missions projects called Hands On for young adults and college students. The projects are run through the International Mission Board and cost $2600 no matter what job you feel called to fill. Go to www.thetask.org for the details. You can serve in Asia and Europe as well as Africa.
