More from Poland

Thursday October 16, 2008   ~   2 Comments

Yes, if you follow on Twitter, you know that I am actually in Rome, Italy. However, I still have info to share about Central and Eastern Europe. And, the team I brought over is still in Poland. So, there is more to the Central and Eastern Europe story on the blog (and more than I could ever tell on the blog anyway).

For example, in Central and Eastern Europe there are:

  • 25 countries

  • 264 people groups or cities

  • 234 unreached people groups or cities

  • 40 mega (more than 1 million in population) and major cities

  • 25,246 evangelical churches

  • 1.7 million evangelical Christians

  • 99.5 percent lost

Before you read the new info, you might want to see some of the discussion in the comments here where Trey Shaw (from Budapest) is answering some questions from an earlier post. Trey is also on Facebook.

Let me update you on a few folks.

Jeff Noble

Today, take a look at an interview with Jeff Noble, pastor of Journey Church. Jeff started the church in 2003 in Monticello, AR after serving as a campus minister from 1995-2003 at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Jeff is a bivocational graphic/web designer since starting Journey. Jeff has been blogging the trip at his personal blog and uploading a plethora of photos at his Flickr page.

Natalie Kasper

IMG_0043.jpgWhen Natalie Kaspar graduated with a journalism degree, she followed open doors to her dream job-- traveling around Central and Eastern Europe telling the stories of how God is alive and moving in nationals' hearts and through the ministries of International Mission Board workers. Natalie serves as a Journeyman in the roles of a writer, editor and photographer based in Prague, Czech Republic.

You can learn more about and even interact with missionaries through Natalie's experiences by following her on Twitter here. I would encourage you to subscribe to her Twitter feed and also check in on Facebook.

You

I have been recruiting pastor friends of all types to come over to Europe and help plant churches here. I hope you will be among them. Trey, Steve Brown, and others are looking for partners. (More on Steve's church planting efforts in Moravia when we get the video working.)

I will close my post with a brief video of why you (and I) need to be missional and mission-minded:

It was a European who said it best: "Come over here and help us" (Acts 16:9). It is still a call we need to hear today.

Dude - holy Atlanta to Rome Batman. Please man-up and drink some coffee the way God made it - espresso.

Jesus took communion by drinking espresso and breaking biscotti with his peeps - now be a Christian and drink.

Michael Trent

Relationship.....true relationship IS the key in Poland. Thanks for your blog!
I'm a church planter in Katowice just south of Krakow.
Anyone one who wants to come is very welcome!
