Top Downloaded Songs this week:
1. Artists for Haiti - We Are The World 25 for Haiti (Thank you celebrities, for without you, how would we know how to handle a crisis? But it is a pretty song.)
2. Black Eyed Peas - Imma Be
3. Train - Hey, Soul Sister
4. Lady Antebellum - Need You Now (“It’s a quarter after 1, I’m a little drunk, and I need you now / I said I wouldn’t call but I’ve lost all control and I need you now”—Let’s not look the other way and pretend this song isn’t what it is [a late-night call for “company”]. Just because the band members can actually sing doesn’t excuse the message of this song.)
5. Ke$ha - TiK ToK
6. Young Money & Lloyd – BedRock (It’s songs like this that make sad for the future of music. They managed to perversely work Fred Flintstone into a rap song, and I honestly wasn’t sure if it was a man or woman “singing” at first.)
7. Jason DeRulo - In My Head
8. Ke$ha - Blah Blah Blah
9. Lady Gaga - Bad Romance
10. Justin Bieber - Baby
Sleep habits of teenagers:
In focus groups conducted by our team here at LifeWay, teenagers regularly report that they get between 7 and 8 hours of sleep at night. Yet we’re not convinced that they’re really getting that much uninterrupted sleep because when we asked them how they feel about their schedules, most report that they feel “overwhelmed” and “tired.”
Check out the graph below to see 40 teenagers' responses to the question: “When you consider your schedule, how do you feel?”
