Social media has become such a large part of how we communicate and share our lives. I find myself searching blogs for the “most current” information and practices. I enjoy hearing other’s thoughts and perspectives on the work of Children's Ministry. I am encouraged and assisted by so many of you out there in Cyberville, USA. That’s why I’m so excited!
Starting next week Kids Ministry 101 will have a full team of bloggers in order to provide you with more information, more “best practices,” more encouragement, more networking opportunities for Children's Ministry, and more FUN! I’m so excited! Let me introduce my friends to you:

Courtney Baker
Courtney serves at LifeWay as one of our Marketing Strategists. Courtney is married to Chase and serves with him in the Middle School Ministry of Gladeville Baptist Church. You’ll enjoy getting to know Courtney! Watch out for her… she’ll “give the house away!”

Lance Howerton
Lance is the Director of LifeWay’s Childhood Ministry Training and Events. Lance is married to Susan and the father of Jordan and Lindsey. Lance is passionate about championing children’s ministry leaders and loves to share “pearls of wisdom” that he has gathered and exercised as a gifted leader of leaders! Lance attends The Bridge Church and serves alongside Susan in various ministry roles.
Mary Katharine Hunt
Mary Katharine serves as the Director of LifeWay Kids. She helps keep the whole team on the same page and the “ship” moving in the same direction. She’s the aunt to two and the god-mother of six. If you’re in Nashville, look for Mary Katharine serving in various volunteer roles throughout the community. Mary Katharine is a member of Rolling Hills Community Church.
Jeff Land
Jeff is all things Preteen! He serves LifeWay as the Preteen guru (Editorial Project Leader)! He’s married to Abbey and the father of three boys: Reed, Nash, and Will. Jeff teaches Preteens every Sunday, at VBS, and any other opportunity he can find at Springfield Baptist Church.

Becky Loyd
Becky is our Lead Marketing Strategist. Becky leads children at Rolling Hills Community Church and is passionate about missions, particularly missions in Moldova. Becky takes several trips a year to work with orphans and the underprivileged.
Klista Storts
Klista serves as the Childhood Ministry Specialist. She is married to Gary and the mother of Brett and Blake… oh yea, and Mimi to her grand-daughter, Mia! Klista works with preschoolers at her church, Donelson Fellowship, and is passionate about laying foundations for conversion in the lives of preschoolers. Klista loves to ask the hard questions, so look out for her!
Scott Wiley
Scott serves on LifeWay’s publishing team as an Editorial Project Leader. He is married to Cindy and is one of the world’s greatest Kindergarten teachers. Scott serves at Tulip Grove Baptist Church, and there’s nothing second rate about Scott. He does everything with excellence and his passion of preschoolers and providing a top notch preschool ministry.
Jerry Wooley
Jerry is Mr. VBS! He serves as the Vacation Bible School Specialist for LifeWay. Don’t expect to talk with Jerry for too long without him asking you about VBS. Jerry loves the local church and serves in various roles (including VBS teacher extraordinaire) at Inglewood Baptist Church.
Bill Emeott
Don’t get worried… I’m still going to share my thoughts along the way, too. Since 2003 I’ve served as the Lead Childhood Ministry Specialist for LifeWay. My passions include childhood ministry leadership training and development, leading children’s Bible Study, and being an Uncle! I’ve been teaching children at First Baptist Nashville for seven years and LOVE IT!
So, you can see why I’m so excited… I decided that today was the day to “quit hiding it” and start sharing it! It’s been a lot of fun sharing my heart on this blog and I’m so excited to get to share the love with my friends!

Love the graphics on your site, so fun..
Just looking for a few really fresh ideas for our Childrens Ministry, help me think outside the box.
Looks like a really strong line up. I'm glad to see the blog grow + prosper!
Rhonda... I think you'll find a lot of what you're looking for on this blog. Stay tuned and check us out every weekday!
Thanks, Tony. I'm looking forward to meeting you in Birmingham in just a few days. It will be good to meet you and serve with you for a few days!
I would really like to see more on the blog you are relaunching! October 1st would have been a good time to see new stuff up! No offense, I am interested. I just keep coming back to the same page. Am I navigating the blog incorrectly?
LI: Hang in there with us, LI... unfortunately the redesign itself is a little slower coming than we had hope... but starting today, you'll notice the new blog team adding content to the site. Hopefully you'll see the redesign (with lots of search options) in the next few days.
My favorite part of children's ministry is being able to use my creative talents to decoate and seeing the kid's get excited about it.
