I've been doing marriage counseling for 95 years. Okay, quite awhile. One of my most profound observations is the immense value of trust in the marital relationship. It's absolutely vital! I am convinced that - other than the Lord - trust is the most important factor in a marriage. Think about it. If a wife cannot believe her husband, even an "I love you" is in question. Our pastor encouraged us, during this Christmas season, to look at Jesus' birth from Matthew 1 and 2 as well as Luke 2. It’s not bad advice. I’ve been doing just that and came across an interesting insight. In Matthew, Joseph has just gotten the word that Mary, his fiancé, is pregnant. I am sure Joe (sometimes I call him Joe) was beside himself with a thousand questions rushing through his head. I mean really, how would you feel if it had happened to you?
