God's Shelter for Your Storm (GIVEAWAY)
They are questions we've all asked: Why is this happening? Does God really care about me? Does my life even matter? Why won't God fix ...?
God's Shelter for Your Storm is a gift book from celebrated author Sheila Walsh. Adapted from her trade book The Shelter of God's Promises, this small book would be an appropriate gift for someone grieving, struggling, or facing one of life's storms.
Walsh incorporates personal stories with Scripture passages and encouragements. Each chapter is themed, explicating one promise of God.
A beloved author of nonfiction and children's works as well as a Women of Faith speaker, Walsh writes with the gentle, personal tone of Max Lucado, with a feminine touch. This is an excellent book to keep by your bedside for a daily dose of encouragement when times are hard. You can see a video from Sheila as well as some more information about the book at sheilawalsh.com/shelter.

This has to be God, as I just watched Sheila being interviewed by James and Betty on Life Today and was glued to her beautiful accent and then got entrenched as she openly shared her humble heart with us all - I thought, I must get this book!
My daily devotional musts are Joel Osteen (yearly calendar and daily emails - he seems to write them just for me - how does he know!) and Everyday with Jesus - a great devotional with bible study scriptures and I journal for deeper personal reflection.
Thank you and many blessings!
Anna

I have always loved Nightlights by Dobson. I received it as a gift for my wedding and love how it reconnects me and my husband and gets us thinking together.

I don't really have a favorite devotional. To be honest I don't think I have ever owned a devotional. I love reading daily devotionals off the internet, though. I have bought many people devotionals as gifts, but I guess I put devotionals in that category of things that you should get as a gift.
On the other hand, I love Sheila Walsh. Every year that I have been to Women of Faith Conference, she is the one I anticipate seeing. Even though she makes me cry every time I see her, I love her. Her story of needing a father she didn't have is much like my own and as a mother of 2, I have had to learn to let go of the hurts of my childhood to be as good a mother as I can be. She just really touches a special place in me. I would love to win a copy of her devotional.

My favorite devotional book is Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. It is written as though Jesus were talking directly to me. I read it on each day. This is my second year doing the same devotional because each year, the message of the day means something different to me. Sometimes, when I need something specific, I close my eyes, ask Jesus to show me something, open up Jesus Calling and there it is, something special-just for me! I have given out many copies to friends and those who don't know Jesus.

My all-time favorite devotional is "My Utmost For His Highest" by Oswald Chambers. He had such insight into the scriptures and how to live out the call of God.

Thus far in my recently refreshed walk with God, "Sun Stand Still" has definitely spoken to me in different ways on a personal level.
Thank you to Shelia isn't enough...for your dedication and ability to express in a real talk way.
Absolutely look forward to jumping into your books.

Blessings!

Jesus calling by Sarah young is my favorite because each devotion can be read and understood by parents and kids and each one has so much to think about in very few words. Great for early morning or night

I like Jesus Calling, anything by Beth Moore, and Joel Osteen's daily emails. First and foremost, I find my most precious devotions coming from the Bible itself, the book of Psalms is and has always been my "go to" source for inspiration.

Hi,
My favorite devotional book is Matthew Henry's Commentary. Yes, I know its not really designed as a "devotional" book, but I read my Bible every day, and then, I like to read what Matthew Henry said about the passage. It gives me new insights and a better understanding of what I have read. I LOVE Matthew Henry!
