June Giveaway: Ronnie Wilson's Gift by Francis Chan
How do you give a gift to God?
That is the question addressed in Ronnie Wilson's Gift, the third children's book in Francis Chan's parable series. Chan expounds on Christ's words in Matthew 25:40, "And the King will answer them, 'I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.' "
The illustrations by Jim Madsen are expressive, colorful, and interesting; the picture of Ronnie shaking money out of his piggy bank to buy a homeless man a hot dog made me grin.

Francis Chan is the author of the highly acclaimed book Crazy Love, which has sold more than 1.3 million copies since its release in 2008.
We have five copies of Ronnie Wilson's Gift to give away this month, thanks to publisher David C. Cook.
To enter, answer this question in the comments:
If you had to choose one thing in your house to give to God, what would it be? (Let's bypass "our kids" answers, OK? I will say Libbie's copy of Jesus Hears Me ... because I think Jesus would laugh at the illustration of Himself that is truly absurd.) — Jessie
Winners will be picked June 30, 2011. One comment person person, please. USA only. LifeWay employees are not eligible to win.

I would give Him an album and scrapbooking supplies - I'd love to see what He deems as important enough to make it into a scrapbook!

Cedar chest. I would like to see what he would fill it with.

Is it bad that I would love to give Him some ingredients and kitchen tools to see what He would cook/bake (maybe for me?)? ;) I would love to see Him cook something delicious!

I'd give Him a pencil & paper, just to see what He would doodle.

I would give him our time above all else. Would love to sit at his feet and hear him talk, listen to his wisdom and advice, and discuss with him how much I love Him!

Wow... deep question... I would give him my whirlpool tub. I think it's my favorite thing in the whole house.

Wow, this is kind of a crazy question. I think I would give him all of it, the whole house. He can just have it. Just kidding. Actually, he can have the computer. It probably takes up the majority of my time. And, it is how I create a little bit of an income.

Sigh. A broom? I need help with both housecleaning and spiritual cleansing lately.

I would give him my chair on the deck, the one that faces the rising son. This is the early morning place that we have our conversations; how cool would it be to have one conversation face to face? This is the quiet time, when everything is new and real. No one to impress, and no distractions. What would he have to say to me during that time? I would give him my chair on the deck and I would kneel at his feet and absorb all he chose to share with me.

I have a porch swing- it was my late father-in-law's. He and I used to rock my firstborn in it when he was an infant... until I lost that amazing father-figure when my baby was a mere 5 months old and my second child already on the way. There is nothing in my home that reminds me more of a father's love. And that is what I would give.

As I pondered your question I found myself wondering, frantically, what I would give. What could possibly be enough? I don't feel that anything in my home is worthy of what He gave to me and the shattered life He turned around. The only thing I feel that I have, that matters, is my heart. So that is what I'd offer.
