Bible Teachers Are Deeply Serious

Sophie - June 29, 2008

There's no question that Deeper Still was absolutely saturated with Truth. All three ladies - Priscilla, Kay and Beth - did an incredible job teaching straight from God's Word, and we're going to be talking a lot on the blog this week about what God said through them to the over 19,000 people in attendance.

But as is always the case when a bunch of women get together, there were lots of laughs this weekend, too. And there was one particular moment - at the end of the conference when Travis and the praise team were leading us in "Shackles" - that was probably my favorite.

It's also probably the only time in my life when the phrase, "Break it down, Kay Arthur. BREAK IT DOWN!" has passed through my mind.

It was hysterical.

Who knows? Next year we may have Deeper Still: The Musical.

Or, you know, not.

But still. A girl can dream.

Note to self: Do NOT show off amazing dance skillz on platform at next You and Your Girl event if Sophie or Mel is in audience holding camera…

Seriously though, that is hilarious and just the way I wanted to start my Monday morning.

Your next assignment: Please find out Kay Arthur’s beauty secrets!

Joni:

MC Hammer would be proud. That just brought untold joy to my day.

When I grow up I want to dance just like Kay.

Valerie Rumfelt:

GO Kay! That was just so great! Loved seeing that this morning. It actually was a blessing.

Rosie:

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for just a blessed weekend of spiritul growth. Kay, your Bible studies changed my life many years ago and because of their my faith journey took a huge leap in a closer relationship with Jesus. Thanks also for the difficult but much much needed teaching this weekend. I am sharing it with everyone I can so that we might be praying to end about this election and the moral decay we have allowed in this country. We must stand up!!

Love you all and May God Bless You & Yours Always!!

Rosie

Oh my. I love it. Reminds me of King David - “I will become even more undignified than this…” He would love Kay!

Kay Barron:

The message delivered by Kay Arthur was absolutely wonderfully presented. I cannot remember when I was as taken with a presentation as this. If at all possible I would like to purchse a copy of her message. In my opinion, everyone should hear her powerful message.

Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

What fun!

That’s ha-larious

And Kay is what? 36 years old? My goodness, I am not worthy!

Such fun—I love that these girls can laugh and bring some teaching and Praise God!

Oh my dear good gracious, if I didn’t just about pee my pants when she did that this weekend….. :D

That is the cutest thing ever! Rock on:-)

Oh MAN!!! I needed a laugh bad this morning - and I got one!!! I have been so sad all weekend that I could not be there for the event. Now … not so much!!!

Oh, I’m still shouting today! It was SO good. I loved all 3 of them & yes, Kay’s message was profound in SO many ways & I wish everyone could hear it too. Thanks for the recap. There’s no way to describe how it truly feels to be in that place for one of these conferences, but y’all are doing great.

Oh, and we left right before this song, so I SO enjoyed seeing that break-down….oh, how cute they all are! Go Kay, Go Kay!

Rhoda

Sweet Mercy. That is the funniest thing I’ve seen since WipeOut last Tuesday. :)

Who says Christians are boring???? They obviously haven’t hung out with these women. :

thanks for sharing. stephanie

Oh My Goodness! I just love me some women who like to get their PRAISE on! At a conference I attended at my church last fall, Lisa Bevere had the worship team play a song we could “dance” to. So they played, “I Am Free!” And it was so wonderful to dance before the Lord and enjoy the atmosphere of the Holy Spirit in an attitude of praise. Glory! That is all I can say - glory through exhilarated laughter and praise - He is so good. Thanks for sharing! Now, tell the truth - were you dancin’, too? Well, maybe not if you were holding the camera - (I’m have a duh? moment!)

Blessings.

That was too funny!

Loved it!

Tammy:

Brings such a smile and laughter to my face!

amy:

It made my day to relive that scene. So funny!

All I can say is…

Oh. My. Gosh.

Hilarious!

Oh Sophie! How can I thank you enough for posting this video? It did my heart good to relive that moment!! I should seriously send you some cookies for this good service you have done. :-)

Fran:

They are just the best aren’t they? I wanna be a smidget of Kay Arthur when I grow up!

Thanks for the video! Its the best! Hugs~ Fran

My dance skills are about on par with Kay Arthur’s but I do want to break it down when I hear that song! :-) SO FUN!

Saratha:

The group of ladies from our church were so moved and excited by this conference and discussed the timely, reviving, hopeful messages from Priscilla, Beth and Kay. We especially appreciated the fervency of Kay’s and the difficulty she faced by being obedient to God to bring this message that was straight from Him. When our pastor Dr. Craig Carlisle preached Sunday morning with the same message but from Judges we were amazed at how God is speaking and we are even more excited about the Truth in The Word. The dancing in the end is great! We felt the same and didn’t want to leave. In fact, as the stage emptied and they walked out many of us cried. God Bless America

OK great Bloggy teacher, how do we capture and save THAT somewhere so that we can look at it on a weekly basis. I have called my entire family in the room to see it! Adorable!!

Linda Munsart:

What fun! It does remind me of King David.

I used to teach ball room dancing; am teaching Kings & Prophets right now, and many times we have kidded that we should have ball room dance lessons after class!

Love you, Kay Arthur and everyone at Precept.

Kim:

I feel like I really missed such a blessing, but I’m so thankful that my friend directed me to this blog! I think that Kay set a great example of how a godly woman can show that Christians can have fun. I’ve studied using Precepts for the past several years & it is amazing how it has changed my life! I thank God for Kay & everyone at Precept everyday!!
