Gratitude
Melanie - November 25, 2008
Considering that I was in the Dominican Republic less than three weeks ago, I am more aware than ever of all the things I have to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
Things I have tended to take for granted such as air-conditioning, clean water straight from the tap, and electricity.
So this year as I sit around the dinner table, I will thank God for the many blessings He has bestowed upon my undeserving, often ungrateful self.
I'll thank Him for His love and sacrifice. I'll thank Him for His mercy. And I'll thank Him for blessing my life so richly with precious family and friends.
How about you? I'd love to hear what you are most thankful for this year.

Healthy kids, healthy us, loving family and friends, enough money for what we need and a little extra some wants.

I am thankful for family, friends and community. I am thankful for the ability to afford all that I need and many luxuries besides. I am grateful for health of body and soundness of mind. And I am most thankful for the gift of faith and the blessing of knowing Jesus and serving Him.
Thanks be to God - the Giver of all good gifts!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I am thankful that I am not in charge, but I know Who is.

I loved your post and loved the basic items you mentioned. I too am glad for running water, but I have to filter it and so on. There are many around me who do not have running water or solid walls to keep the cold out and worse of all, they do not have Jesus.
I am thankful God introduced me to His Son and then months later to my now husband. After being told I’d never have kids w/o medicine, I am now pregnant with my third God given (w/o meds) child due in May. I am thankful for the BODY and for us all serving HIM! We are not able to give gifts to each other this year (cost of living got too high this year and support stayed the same), but I am glad we are together for the holidays and we can SHARE the Gift of God, His Son, Jesus to ALL and to our children.
Thank you for this blog!! HUGS Jackie

Of course I am thankful for family, health, home, etc. But this year I am so aware that I have a REDEEMER that takes my past mistakes and REDEEMS them for something good. OH PRAISE YOU LORD!!
