In the first light
Sophie - December 17, 2008
I don't know about y'all, but if I think long enough about everything I have to get done in the next week, part of me wants to go into a dark room and close the door and sit on the floor and rock back and forth for a little while.
The word "overwhelmed" comes to mind.
But here's what I know: every single bit of cooking and cleaning and traveling will be absolutely, totally worth it. After a quick trip to Tennessee this weekend to see my brother's side of the family, we'll come back home and open our doors for Parade-O-Company '08. It's gonna be a little hectic, but it will also be a blast. WE'RE MAKING MEMORIES, PEOPLE.
So yes, it's a little busy around here. And yes, it could even be a little stressful if I let it be. But I am praying like crazy that we will, above all else, see Jesus everywhere we turn this Christmas. The gift of Him. The miracle of Him. The wonder of Him.
I don't want want to miss Him.
Travis Cottrell - Ring The Bells
Praying that His glory falls fresh on you and your family.
Merry Christmas, y'all.

Thanks for this post. May we always remember to enjoy time with family and friends because we never know when our time will come to leave this earth. Thank you Jesus for Travis Cottrell!! I don’t have this cd yet but I do have quite a few of his cd’s. The Lord shines a light through him and his music.

I think “In the First Light” may just be my favorite song on the CD. Something about the angels singing gives me chills!

I heard ‘In the First Light’ several years ago and it quickly became my favorite Christmas song. I was so excitd to see Travis include it on his CD — and now on this blog. LOVE IT!! I think I love it because it’s a Christmas song, and Easter song, and a HE’s Coming Back song! Praise HIM!

I was blessed to see Travis do this song when in Delaware with Beth this fall - amazing. And it’s become my favorite song this Christmas! Never fails to pull me back to the focus of this season - our amazing Lord Jesus!
