An Esther Update
Melanie - January 9, 2009
Hey.
Remember back in December when I mentioned that my Bible study group is doing Beth Moore's "Esther: It's Tough Being a Woman" study this spring and mentioned that it might be fun if we discussed it once a week in the comments here?
And then remember how I never mentioned it again?
Well, I'm proud to announce that I now have a plan in place.
My group is having our first meeting next Wednesday, January 14th. Our plan is to watch the first session, eat some chocolate chip cookies, and discuss our hair. Not necessarily in that order.
Anyway, I'll jot down my thoughts and share them here on Friday, January 16th and then you can add your thoughts on the first session in the comments.
Rinse and repeat every Friday until we're done with the study.
Does that work for y'all? I think it will just be more fun to share everything we're learning and seeing what stands out to different people.
Have a great weekend!

Melanie I have started the Bible Study Esther Its Tough Beening a Woman. I am doing the individual study and I am really enjoying it. This is the first bible study I have done with Beth Moore. She is so captivating through the sessions I have done so far.I had prayed to God to give me a book in the bible to study and he gave me Esther. Then I went to a meeting and one of the ladies there was telling me about Beth Moore, so when I went home I looked her up on the internet and went to the Lifeway website and there it was her next bible study Esther this was my confirmation.

Our study begins Tuesday night. We have a great group of gals from 20 something to 60 something and it’s always good to have all their perspectives. I will enjoy sharing with you all from our time together. Gina

It’s a feast after a famine! For the last year I’ve had to do my Bible studies on my own since the times our church offered the studies conflicted with previous commitments (a small group that meets in our home and homeschooling my girls). But this semester, our church added a new day and time that I can go to. Yah! And I’ll get to discuss it here on-line. Double Yah!! I guess God must have a lot to teach me!

Our church is studying Beth Moore (Esther) right now as well. We meet as small groups at 9AM and then come together at 10AM to watch the video as a large group. There are about 60 of us in all, of all ages and walks of life. I am a small group leader during the first hour and I am totally thrilled to be doing this study. My small group has 12 ladies in it including myself and we are as of today on Week 2. I will very much enjoy checking in here with you all to see how the studying is impacting your lives and will share it with my “lifegroup”. I have lead 2 other Beth Moore studies at our church and I just love her to death. I would not miss this for anything. See you all soon! Blessings!

I’ve been doing Beth Moore studies since 1999 and they have truly changed my life. The first one, A Heart Like His, got me connected with some wonderful women who are now good friends. Before that, I didn’t know that many women at church. They, and the studies have done so much for me and brought me much closer to Christ. I fell in love with the Old Testament with Beth’s teaching. She’s just awesome. She came to Lincoln a few years ago so I got to see her in person which was fabulous. I’m in a study now on Friday mornings with 17 or so women of all ages and it’s great. We’re so close and support each other thru lots of stuff. Esther is going to be life changing!
