I'm still processing...
Sophie - February 8, 2009
...everything about Going Beyond this past weekend, but I thought I'd share a few pictures before I try to string together some words and some sentences and lo, even paragraphs.
So.
Once I got settled in my hotel room, I decided that this is my wish for every tired mama in the whole wide world:

A comfy bed, some fluffy pillows and a remote. All to yourself. And maybe some Starbucks, too, but I didn't have any of that at the time so I couldn't put it in the picture. But if I could've, I would've.
When I finally made it to the event (Google Maps is my SWORN ENEMY, I tell you), I was blessed beyond measure by Priscilla's hair.

Y'all know that I feel we should affirm good hair when we see it. And Priscilla's hair was deserving of some serious affirmation.
And speaking of good hair.

This is Betsy, who works on the women's events team at LifeWay. You've probably seen her making announcements before Saturday morning sessions at different LifeWay events.
And Betsy has some GOOD HAIR. She always looks darlin'. This past weekend she had on an adorable scarf with her Going Beyond t-shirt, and I was ever-so-appreciative of her fashion flair. Cute as a bug, she is.
Finally.
You know how sometimes you see people you don't know but you just instantly enjoy Jesus through them?

That's how I felt about these ladies at Going Beyond. They sat across the aisle from me, and while I don't know their names, I can tell you that their joy was palpable. They have no idea how much they ministered to me, but OH, they did. Wish I could hug their necks right now.
Anyway, I'll be back later with my reactions to what was some of the most powerful teaching I've ever heard (hit me right where I'm livin', it did). Hope y'all are having a wonderful weekend!

Woo hoo!!!! Can I just tell you how much God put you on my heart this weekend? I just kept saying “Bless her socks off.” I can’t wait to hear about the teaching. :)

God is amazing. I invited my older daughter to attend she admitted her relationship with Christ had waned. She had finally graduated from college this past Decemeber and was looking forwarded to beginning a wonderful career. And then we had a life interruption she was pregnant. This wasn’t something either us wanted at this time in her life. However, God has something in store for both of us and allowed Priscilla to minister to us in our need. I thank God once again for His way not being my ways and His thoughts not being thoughts!
God is amazing!!!!!!

I looked for you and thought I saw you and started to come ask if you were you but the music started and I never left my seat. Did you sit two pews behind Priscilla and had your arm around that precious little child?? Anyway, I, like you, am still processing all Priscilla brought. I am at a life interruption right now (not a bad thing) but needed that Word to confirm a decision. I tell you, God showed up and showed out!!! Maybe next time you and I are at the same event I can find you and give you a big ol hug!! And you are right about Betsy’s hair….made me want to come home and cut my hair back off (and I may just make an appointment in the morning). God Bless You!!!

What a conference! I keep having little snippets of what she said come to mind even today. I am a member of Roswell Street and got to be a hostess (we had the pink t-shirts on) and had a wonderful time doing it. I helped in concessions and got to speak to a lot of the ladies. I just wanted to thank them for all the kind words we received. It was a lot of fun to get to be a part of it and Priscilla delivered a great message. She is awesome!!! The Lifeway team runs a smooth operation and thanks for everything ya’ll do for us ladies. We all need the word!

Sophie: I cannot BELIEVE that I didn’t see you! The Women’s Ministry Leadership Team from my church went and we had a wonderful time of fellowship together. I’ll tell you this - I got an email just a while ago from one of them that was quite encouraging! She said she had been using a method in her own quiet time from what she learned when Priscilla taught on Saturday morning about breaking down scripture.
It was good to see you at FBC Woodstock a couple of weeks ago at the Live Recording Concert with Travis Cottrell. I can’t wait until those CD’s are released.
Much love to you friend, Georgia Jan
