Because we'd love your input
Sophie - May 17, 2009
This past weekend some other bloggers and I met LifeWay Women's Pam and Paige (they're the nuts in the video to the right) for supper at one of our favorite barbecue restaurants here in Birmingham. The conversation was just as scattered and lively as you might imagine; over the course of about an hour and a half we talked about kids, women's events, Jesus, recipes, horseback riding (?!?), relationships and how sweet our friend Lora Lynn's baby is. We covered some topical ground to be sure.
The night was so much fun, and sitting at the table with Pam and Paige made me think about how the AllAccess blog has been going strong for almost a year. Melanie and I have had the best time going to different events and sitting under absolutely incredible teaching (like so many of y'all, we're "moms in the seats" who have been encouraged so much by LifeWay's women's ministry as we continue to learn and grow in our faith), and we have met some great bloggy friends along the way. It's been a blast.
We've loved being able to give away different Bible studies, books, CDs and event tickets on AllAccess this past year, and we're hoping to do even more of that. But in addition to what we've been doing, what new kinds AllAccess giveaways would you like to see? More Bible studies? More event tickets? Some event perks (reserved seat giveaways, a free trip for you and a friend to an event, etc.)? I'm not saying that all of those things are going to happen, mind you - I'm just wondering what would be the most appealing and exciting to you?
Thanks in advance for your input - and if you have any additional ideas, please feel free to chime in! I know your suggestions will be a big help to Pam, Paige and Kris as they finalize LifeWay Women's plans for 2010.

Thank you for the generosity! Any and all of those prizes you named would be awesome. The small group I lead is not really affiliated with one church. Any help with literature would be wonderful. When LPL came to our town we were all there. A few of us volunteered and were treated royally. So I speak from experience that perks would be outstanding but only if the whole group could take advantage.
Again, thank you. Karlys

OK…I love the giveaways you mentioned, and I recognize the good that this will do in spreading the word about folks who share the Word. That’s good stuff.
I’d like to see some kind of focus on blessing others—be it mosquito nets or clean water wells for LIFE or sponsoring some Compassion children. How about a matching challenge or some physical way to take what we have and be a blessing to others in time and gifts?
Also I think it’d be fun to get to talk with you and Melanie over the phone and then put it in a podcast for all to hear! :0) That’d be fun!
Being quiet now…

OOOh… I would love a trip to an event! They are often too far away for me to attend. But I love the smaller give aways too like BIble Studies and CDs and such. Its all good!

Sophie,
Those were some great barbecue times they just weren’t long enough. But I did get my fill of thus yummy little biscuits. Guess where we were? anyone?
Yes, fun feedback would be so helpful. We are currently wanting to get women excited about the Greensboro Deeper Still. It will be so fun and amazing with all new messages. Am pondering a registration give away on that event! Hmmmm. pondering.
Thanks girls! Where ever we can have fun meet ups with you, we LOVE it. LOVE IT!

Absolutely a trip to an event. Being in the midwest makes it hard to get to one without spending an arm and a leg!!
Another suggestion…. it would sure be neat to figure out a system for bloggers to share Bible studies… for instance I have Conversation Peace and Esther that we have done. I would love to trade those for another study we could do???

Umm yeehaw…woohoo! I would flip out over a cool giveaway like tickets to an event! Especially with my bff along!
All great ideas! Very nice.
Maybe some focus on pastor wives….ministry isn’t always easy. They could use some lovin!

Well, hang on girls. I am lovin’ the meetings we are having around LifeWay Women these days! We have SO much in mind for the coming months - giveaways and good times - all related to ministering to YOU!
And I love Wanda’s comment above - like her, I am a minister’s wife. So I know EXACTLY what you mean about needing “some lovin’”. But I know we are so thankful for our calling to serve!
Sophie, to you, a GREAT BIG THANK YOU, for pulling together Birmingham gals to dine with us Saturday night! That was a LOT of conversation in a short time.
My next stop is Pittsburgh Living Proof Live. Anyone joining me there? Let me know and we’ll meet up!
Love y’all with all my heart. Pam

Totally liked everything you said Sophie, and especially liked the reserved seating at an event… I have sat in the back so many times during events that the speakers look so tiny (love the jumbo screens though)
Thanks, Kim

I just finished the Deeper Still bible study in a friends home last night and we watched the last video where Kay and Priscilla and Beth were finishing up and it was very funny. HOWEVER, as a single, childless woman I must respectfully mention that after a lifetime of painfully trying to ignore being ignored and disrespected for not being married and a mother in most women’s studies I was truly anticipating the message that was promised in the video when Priscilla mentioned that they must address the single women out there hoping that I would hear what scripture says. I was horrified that immediately Beth MOore started lecturing on pornography as if all single women need to be labeled with that sin. It’s not true of me and I feel like filth today knowing that I had to sit in a roomful of women watching that video assuming that it was right about me ecause I am single. Now I know why the leader almost apologized to me before she showed it because she had watched it and knew what it was going to say about single women. I never knew that single people were presumed to be addicted to pornography and so now, as if life isn’t a struggle enough, I have to walk around knowing that I am probably labeled with that. I have enough burdens in life and now I couldn’t hurt more after having to listen to this. I know that it is not scriptural that someones marital status defines what sins they may or may not be doing. Please think before you dismiss people. I guess if someone came to you with this problem and needed counseling regarding this issue then, you could address it to that person, but please, never assume. Please understand, not all single women have this sin, and not all married women are free of it.

I’m all about the giveaways — event tickets would be a blast! Reserved seats? Great fun!
A trip? Oh my that would be fantastic!
I love the idea of giving something that blesses the entire group…. hmmm, how to accomplish that? I don’t know. I know, really helpful. I’ll have to ponder that group idea….. oh, wait what about this: Event tickets for a group w/ reserved seats.
And Bible studies. Those are always a blessing.

I like the idea of a free trip for me and a friend to an event. Being on the west coat it’s always a downer when things seem to happen in Texas and i can’t be there!!!
Also Sophie and Melanie, how did you get to be part of this AllAccess blog?

I think reserved seats would be great.I’m a front row seater. I have to get up at 4:00 am to get good seats. Then I’m so sleepy .It would be great not to have to get up so early.
