Going beyond

This weekend I'm heading to Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin, Texas to hear Priscilla Shirer speak. I've heard Priscilla speak at a few Deeper Stills, but have never been to one of her Going Beyond events.

I can't wait to hear what she has to say because, not only does Priscilla always have an incredible message, she presents it in an incredibly powerful way. She is just a gifted communicator.

I'll be checking back in with some updates about the event but, if you're going to be anywhere near Austin, you should totally check it out for yourself.

So, Melanie… I looked for you at Going Beyond (which was awesome!) but did not see you and was a little nervous about asking anyone that slightly resembled you because of what happened at the Siesta Fiesta in San Antonio last year!

We were getting breakfast at the McDonald’s by the Alamo and I saw your twin and said very excitedly, “Big Mama is that you?!!” Then she gave me the YOU ARE AN INSANE LADY look- so then I had to explain no, I do not think you are a large black woman- there are these people called Siestas, Big Mama, Boo Mama, etc. to this poor stranger- who did have a wristband on. I was horrified with myself!

THEN I SAW HER AGAIN AT LPL AND DID IT AGAIN! Big Mama- is that you??? Oh wait, you are wearing the same clothes as the woman I accosted this morning…I am going to have to meet you sometime in real life so I will feel better about myself- I am SURE she is your twin!

Anyway- I loved Priscilla and her brother was AMAZING! She is so full of wisdom- I hope I can be like her when I grow up! I am going to try the Bible scripture strategy!
