A Mad Rush
Melanie - October 12, 2009
Before this weekend I'd never had the chance to be at the doors of a Living Proof Event the moment they open.
I am telling you it is a sight to behold. There are some women who are passionate about claiming themselves some prime seating real estate and Rich captured it perfectly.

I was so relieved to see this was not a closeup when the doors opened. Would have been very embarrassed…My friend really wanted great seats, so I agreed we could arrive at 3:00 on Friday. There was only one other person there when we arrived. Before I knew it, I was pinned to the door as thousands of women began arriving. It was unreal. So, yes…when the doors opened, I may or may not have ran. It was for my own safety, really. We did score second row seats, so I guess it was worth it. We even made it back for the same seats on Saturday.

Oh Goodness… I am guilty!
I have to say I learned the hard way… my first few LPL events I had to sit WAY WAY WAY up top… once I was seriously on the very top row… not only did you wish you had binoculars but you were a little afraid to stand up! : )
My friends from home always laugh at me… but I was telling them today that it is really part of the fun! We had a ball drinking Starbucks in the chilly early hours Saturday morning… and such a gift to meet all these precious women and hear their stories! It is really a sweet time of fellowship!
I also love the excitement and anticipation that is in the air! I think we are all just so hungry and thirsty for more of Him! The world pulls you so hard… and LPL events are like a little taste of heaven! : ) Absolutely one of my biggest joys!
Thanks Lifeway Team, Living Proof Team, Travis/worship team , Rich, Nate… etc… We are grateful for you!

Oh yes, it is imperative that you arrive at least 2 hours before the doors open to get a good seat. I have been doing LPL events for 9 years and my friends don’t even like to go with me anymore because I arrive so early!
Beth sure spoke some awesome truths to my heart this past weekend. I agree with all those that say, “It will take days to digest all I heard.” It always does.
Glad I got to meet you and hug your neck. Have waited a long time to do that. Even though I don’t blog I read you daily!
Blessings, Teresa

That’s hillarious. But it still does not even come close to capturing the madness that ensues, especially on Friday evening. Saturday is usually a little more laid back as most people make their way back to the seats they had on Friday.
And it’s funny that you would bring it up because I was thinking out-loud this weekend that you had probably never truly experienced the mad dash for seats. My dear, you are missing out.

I’m not able to see video, but believe me I know. I have been to all of the Deeper Still events and it is the same way. Pack & pray for patience. When the door finally opens, it appears as though some of the ladies tend to forget that they are at a christian event. We have always been fortunate to get the seats we want every year so I guess it is worth the wait.

That is so funny, they look like ants. It’s especially funny to pick out one person and watch them! Like the lady in the middle aisle with the green vest looking thing.

Goodness. We are one crazy bunch!!! The funniest thing was the Forum employees having to say “walk ladies, there are plenty of seats” as we we were ummm…power walking to get to ours. :)

I’ve been to my share of events and I enjoy sitting at the top. There’s a few empty seats in between those of us sitting in that section and we are all able to spread out purse, notebook, bible, sweater, bought items, legs, etc. Thank goodness for the big screens!
