Breaking Free out tomorrow!
Sophie - November 1, 2009
Now I know y'all are a savvy Bible-study bunch, so you're probably well-aware of what I'm about to tell you - but tomorrow is a mighty big Bible study day, oh yes it is.

If you've ever heard Beth Moore teach, you've probably heard her say that Breaking Free is her life message. And this new version - which was filmed at Franklin Avenue Baptist in New Orleans and contains testimonies from women who have broken free of strongholds in their lives - promises to be absolutely awesome.
And do you know what I love? If this is a season of your life when you can't be a part of a group Bible study at your church or in your town (been there, had the crazy schedule, done that), you can actually watch the teaching sessions online. It's a deeee-lightful option if you really want to dig deep in the Word but don't have room for another outside-the-house commitment.
Sometimes technology makes me smile.
Have any of you done the first Breaking Free study? And are any of you planning to do this new one?

I have done the first Breaking Free twice. It is powerful. I would love to do the new one as well.

I have done Breaking Free twice, and both times God used it in my life. I would like to do the new study, and the on-line option is probably the way I’ll go. (I love the interaction of a live group, but other church commitments make doing it too much of a strain on my family life!)

I’ve led the original Breaking Free study several times and have been w-a-i-t-i-n-g for the update to come out!! Can’t wait to get mine and get our new class started in January!

Yes, I have done the original BF Study, and I just ordered the new edition, and oh yes I am planning on doing the study online… I love that option!!! Lifeway Rocks :)
Can you do a roll call for this weekend’s LPL event. I would love to see who is coming, as I will be there :)

I did Breaking Free in 2002 and I was one at the New Orleans Breaking Free taping in 2008! Amazing study. It blessed me the first time and I was blown away to sit in the taping of the new one.
Am I doing the new one? YES! I’m doing it online first and then I’ll be leading it for a group in my home…. and then I think we’re going to do an online group study. So am I excited….? Sort of.

I did BF when I was 25 years old… a new wife, newer mommy, and just plain immature. What’s worse, is I was the leader! that still cracks me up! I hope to do it again and am pumped that i can watch online!

Haven’t done it yet, but our church is planning to do it in our next season of Bible study (starting in January). I’ve heard nothing but great things, and the ladies are excited to be doing it soon. Our church did it years ago (before I moved here), and so the plan is to reuse the old DVDs…. Maybe I can convince them to splurge and buy the new set? I don’t know, we’ll see…

Yes, ma’am. I went to my favorite Lifeway store in Franklin Monday morning, bought my book, downloaded my sessions and I’m in it.
Interestingly enough, I have facilitated the original study 3 times. I have never just been a participant. Maybe that doesn’t mean much to those who have never facilitated. But leading a study takes its toll. Sure, you get lots and lots out of the material, but you also have administrative things to look after, lots of prayer, sometimes counselling to do, and on and on. I won’t go so far as to say that the facilitator misses something, but it is just that you are going through a very important and profound study AND you are the servant leader to many, many women who you want to see radically changed through the process.
So…
I said all of that…
…to say this:
I’m going through the updated version with just me, myself and I…alone in my office…with just God and His Word, my workbook and Beth’s teaching.
The original study marked me for life. I can’t wait to see what new truths God has for me this go around!
Blessings, Dori
