A few good men

Sophie - December 5, 2009

There are usually a few men at any LifeWay Women event. And usually - at least this is what I imagine - the topics at hand are pretty universal. The approach may be a little woman-centric, of course, but by and large I don't think that men are uncomfortable sitting in an arena with thousands of women.

But then there was this afternoon at Deeper Still.

Because y'all, we weren't two minutes into the Q&A when Priscilla asked Kay and Beth what they wished someone had told them about their current age. And while I won't go into all the whys and wherefores of the responses, I will say that this is what Priscilla's husband Jerry looked like when Kay was answering the question.

Oh, bless him. And all the other men in attendance, for that matter.

Because the word "bladder" may have been mentioned.

I'm just sayin'.

Jenny:

and the poor guy’s embarrassment just continued……he was a good sport.(: Hope you enjoyed your time in okc, Sophie!

“bladder” is on my list of words that give me chills in a bad way.

Bless his heart…

Fran:

Oh, that is priceless and precious and true!! Bless him.

Susan Clark:

Thanks for the update on Deeper Still. Never can tell what those three are go;ing to talk about.

Jana:

Oh, and what a joy Deeper Still was…and so(!) informative! I may or may not have snorted a few times during that last session. Jerry was definitely a good sport (did you pass him that paper?). Thank y’all for giving me a good reason to visit my homeland from Seattle!

What a sweet man! My friends and I practically died from laugher when he held up his “umemployed” sign. There was much laughter but there was an ever greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit!

Jennifer:

I almost left early to head back to Tulsa to get to church on time, but didn’t. Something just tugged at me to stay. I totally missed my church service but…….I am sooooooo glad I did. I needed that laugh. Sadly I didn’t snort like Jana, but OH MY WORD, did I ever laugh. The ‘unemployed’ sign was priceless. Overall, I was blessed beyond anything I’ve EVER experienced in my life. The whole time I kept thinking, I might just be attending something which is a once in my lifetime opportunity. I consider being under the teaching of those three fantastic, most anointed Bible scholars a highlight in my 42 years on this earth. What an amazing opportunity for those 9,000+ women. I’m thrilled I was one of them.

Alexis:

I about died when he stood up with that unemployed sign and my friends patted me on the back cause my husband IS unemployed right now! I enjoyed the conference so much, thank you for filling my mind and heart.
