On the calendar

Melanie - December 29, 2009

Yesterday I went shopping because, HOORAY AFTER CHRISTMAS SALES, and while I was out I bought a new calendar for 2010. For the last few months I thought this might be the year that I decide to go all electronic and high-tech with my daily planner, but then I remembered a little quirk I have about forgetting to check any calendar that isn't out in plain sight.

It doesn't matter that it's on my phone and my computer. If I haven't written it down with actual pen or pencil, then the event doesn't exist in my mind.

Plus a new blank calendar just waiting to be written in makes me so happy. It doesn't take much, honestly.

So I started to merrily write a few items down for 2010 and made a little trip over to the LifeWay Womens' Events page to see all the big happenings that are coming up in the next 12 months. And, let me tell you, there is A LOT planned for 2010.

In fact, I made several notes on my calendar about possible travel dates. I don't know if I'll actually be able to attend everything I marked, but a girl with a new calendar is a girl with a dream.

Anyway, you can click over to the Events page to see what's going to be near you this year. It's going to be a good one!

Thanks so much for posting this link! There is an event in my town in 2010! I will definitely be there!

Sadly, nothing for us in MT, but maybe next year! Or maybe girls weekend to…wherever!

I love it! Me, too. I like to write and tend to remember it better. Also, I like to feel the pages and see the ink…

I’m hoping to come to Deeper Still in Denver in June!

I’m so glad you have a calendar you can hold too. My husband rolls his eyes every time I do anything that could be done on the computer instead. I tell him I like the way I can just walk up to something, write it down, carry it around, take it to the store with me, etc. I know you could do that with a laptop, but then we would miss the written word, wouldn’t we? We can be more creative this way with doodles and drawings too.

Ohhhh, how I LOVE a blank calendar! Last night I sat with my husband and asked him to read me the school calendar as I used colored pens, one different color for each member of our family to break down the busy-ness. Except he read me the 2010-2011 calendar. So I scratched it out. Then he realized he was right the first time. OH, the aggravation!! Must laugh so I don’t elbow him! Thanks for posting your link!!
