The book of our heart

Melanie - January 12, 2010

So I mentioned last week that I'm reading through the Bible in a year. This morning I read this passage:

God made my life complete
when I placed all the pieces before him.
When I got my act together,
he gave me a fresh start.
Now I'm alert to God's ways;
I don't take God for granted.
Every day I review the ways he works;
I try not to miss a trick.
I feel put back together,
and I'm watching my step.
God rewrote the text of my life
when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes.

Psalm 18: 20-24

When I was twenty-two years old, I finally allowed God to take control of my life after years of rebellion and trying to do things my way. It hasn't always been easy, but it's been an adventure to see all the ways he has rewritten "the text of my life".

And this morning, after reading this, I took some time to let him know how grateful I am for his love and his grace. May the book of our hearts always be opened to his eyes.

These verses were added to my list of favorites last year and now reside as part of my email signature! I love, love, love them and they are such a reminder to keep opening the book of my heart to his eyes.

So true for us all. Amen and amen!
