O, Canada

Sophie - March 8, 2010

LivingProof_140x190.jpgNow I don't know about y'all, but this winter stuff is officially ON MY NERVES. I'm ready for some blue skies, some sunshine and some longer days. I also need a little bit of a break from soups and stews. I know it probably sounds silly, but by the end of February they're sort of on my nerves, too. Not that I'm complaining, of course. I just wouldn't mind a good, ripe tomato with a little salt and pepper on it.

Perhaps I digress.

Anyway, if there is any lingering doubt that spring is on the way, this weekend will cast all of it aside - because the very first Living Proof Life of 2010 will be held in Toronto.

Canada, you have no idea how much I envy you right now.

I mean, first you get to claim Candice Olson as your very own. Then you won all of those gold medals in the Olympics. And now you get a weekend with Beth?

BLESSED BEYOND MEASURE, you are.

All of you Canucks (did you see how I did that? how I used "Canucks" in a sentence? even though I'm a girl in Alabama who has never even visited Canada? clearly I have watched more than my share of HGTV) who are going to Living Proof Live this weekend are in for such a treat. So if you're feeling crazy, leave us a comment and let us know you'll be there.

You don't even have to write a whole sentence. You can just say, "Eh."

And then I'll answer by saying, "Y'all."

(You say "eh," I say "y'all," EH! Y'ALL! EH! Y'ALL!)

(Perhaps I have just a touch of cabin fever, seeing as how I'm apparently trying to turn the AllAccess blog into some sort of multi-cultural exchange.)

Have a great week, everybody!

Kari:

I would just like to say that I am quite sure those Canadians DESERVE such blessings for living in such a cold and snowy country!! We are in the depths of snow in SD, I cannot imagine what they are experiencing up there! :) SD is far enough north for this gal!!!

I’m with you. I’m ready for a good thick slice of tomato - salt, pepper, white bread and mayo too. Mmmm. I’m with Kari - Canada deserves a warm word from the heart of Texas. We’ll share with them! Besides…I get my own in Lutz next month!

I’m not going, but I couldn’t resist adding a comment because I’m from Toronto and let me just say that bless their hearts, they’ll be having cold weather until long into March/April …

northern girl:

Hi from up north. We’ve actually had the mildest winter in ages up here and the past few days have certainly felt like spring was on it’s way.
Evidence? My backyard was visited by a troop of robins last week migrating back north; just happened to look out while I was reading ‘So long insecurity’ (I took it as a sign from above). I’m one of the newbies and this is all new to me and so exciting. I can hardly wait to hear Beth speak this weekend. One point of insecurity right now…do I have to get my hair done up? :) see you soon
