You and Your Girl

Even though I am currently in the throes of some severe SEC basketball tournament post-traumatic stress disorder (my beloved Bulldogs lost to Kentucky in the final seconds of the championship game and then got snubbed by the NCAA tourney, but I won't talk about that here since this is supposed to be A HAPPY PLACE), I wanted to tell you about an upcoming LifeWay Women event that won't make you worry about things like foul trouble and three-point shots that won't fall and last-minute lay-ups that crush your dreams of championship trophies.
REALLY, I'M FINE. I PROMISE.
And my basketball-related angst is not the point of this post. There's far more important business at hand.
On March 27th Vicki Courtney's You and Your Girl event will be at Longview Heights Baptist Church in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Vicki tackles many of our most common parenting challenges head-on, and if you've ever heard her speak, you know that she has wisdom for days. You and Your Girl also offers break-out sessions for the girls in attendance, so it's a wonderful way for mamas and daughters to spend the day together and gain some practical, Biblically-based insight for whatever issues different age groups might be facing.
And do you know what else I love about Vicki? Besides the fact that she's a great teacher and all?
She's an avid college sports fan, so she won't mind that I've written about her event and also somehow managed to work in a little bit of a rant about a basketball tournament.
In other words, she understands my particular brand of crazy.

Hi Sophie,
Breathe deep sister, I recognize the PTSD with regard to allegiance to our teams. (smile) I would love to encourage Ms Vicki to consider a Southern California engagement.
Is that or could it be in the works???
