Some of the greatest unsung heroes in our nation are the members of our military. They put their lives on the line every single day so that we can continue to enjoy the freedoms for which so many have fought and died.
And today is a day to remember.
Let's take time today to remember the soliders who are currently serving our country, the soliders who have died serving our country, and the military families who have made countless sacrifices as they've stood in support of their loved ones.
I know that most of us will probably never understand the depth of what the members of our military have done for us.
But I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we're grateful.
I've listened to this song a lot lately and it's been a good reminder that I need to trust God with my WHOLE heart. I can't pick and choose the areas I want to submit. My life is in His hands and He really doesn't need my help and he certainly doesn't need my messing it up with all my anxieties and worries.
A couple of days ago Beth Moore, her daughter Melissa and a group of staff members and volunteers from Living Proof Ministries hopped on a plane and flew to Israel.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that there are probably nine or maybe even twelve people on that trip who are well-familiar with Scripture.
And in all seriousness, can you even imagine how much fun they're having? How much they're learning? What a fresh reminder they're getting of who the Lord is and what He's done for us?
Sweet mercy. Just typing about their trip is about to make me break out in a chorus of "How Great Thou Art."
Anyway, if you'd like to follow along with what Beth and the group are doing in the Holy Land, you'll be happy to know that you can do just that over at the LPM blog. It's the next best thing to being there.
