Living Proof Live Fresno - coming right up!

Sophie - March 30, 2011 - Comments (2)

For most of this week it's been cloudy and dreary and gray here in Birmingham. We've had to turn on the heat at night - a rarity for late March in this neck of the woods - and if not for the pollen that's all around us and the fresh leaves on the trees, we might think we were trapped in January forevermore.

And yes, I'm well aware that in about two months I will think back on this week and long for the cool air. Oh, my silly human-ness is a fickle creature, is it?

Anyway, since this week has been so damp and bleak-looking, I feel an extra measure of happiness when I think about the Living Proof Live team heading to Fresno, California this weekend. It's going to be 80 degrees and sunny tomorrow, and I am only slightly green with envy. Only slightly.

But in addition to the sunshine this Friday and Saturday, the folks in Fresno are also in for some Son-shine (oh yes. I totally went there. I did. I embraced the pun.) and a mighty fine time of teaching and worship. Beth, Travis and the worship team will be on the platform, and there will be a host of sweet people working behind the scenes. If you're planning to attend, you can rest assured that there's a blessing in store.

Will any of you be there? We'd love to hear from you!

This week's winner!

The last Deeper Still

Melanie - - Comments (2)

I don't know if y'all are aware of this or not, but this year marks the last Deeper Still Event featuring Kay Arthur, Beth Moore and Priscilla Shirer.

The dates are June 10-11 and it will be in Louisville, KY.

I don't know about y'all, but between hosting the last Deeper Still and making it to the Final Four, I think Kentucky might be God's favorite right now.

Can you tell I've become a little consumed with March Madness?

Anyway, if you can make it to Kentucky, you will not want to miss the chance to see these three amazing Bible teachers on the same stage. They will make you laugh and cry and see God in ways that you've never imagined.

They will challenge you and inspire you and probably give you some good hair tips before it's all over.

We hope to see you there!

Going Beyond Simulcast: Life Interrupted

Sophie - March 28, 2011 - Comments (0)

I have a feeling that this week is going to be filled with anticipation for Priscilla Shirer and her team as they prepare for the first-ever Going Beyond simulcast. Hundreds of churches will be participating in this event (say it with me: technology is a wonder), and I for one can't wait to hear what God does through Priscilla's teaching on the life of Jonah.

A few weeks ago we mentioned to y'all that there was going to be a LifeWay Women Live simulcast with Priscilla, and I was just as tickled as I could be when I saw that the video from that simulcast is now available. So if you have a little break in your morning (or afternoon), fix yourself a big ole Diet Coke (or water. or sweet tea. or whatever you prefer - I certainly don't want to impose my personal beverage preferences on you.), sit back and listen to a great discussion between Paige, Pam and Priscilla.

(And just so you know: when I typed their three names, I started singing "We Three Kings" in my head, only I changed it to "We Three Ps.)

(WHY AM I SO WEIRD?)

Enjoy, y'all!
