Going Beyond - San Antonio
Melanie - March 3, 2011
Before I tell y'all about the weekend in San Antonio, here are a few quick pictures.
Darlene and Lanae working the merch table.

Nobody works a merch table like the two of them.
Here's Paige with some cute gals.

And here's Priscilla with the same group.

This is me with Priscilla.

You can't tell in that picture but I was totally coveting the top she was wearing. Can I say that on the LifeWay blog?
It was a great time of ministry and the crowd was one of the best we've ever had at an event. You could tell they were a group of women who couldn't wait to worship with Anthony and get into the Word with Priscilla.
Priscilla taught from Judges 6 about Gideon and the Midianites and there were so many great takeaways, but two things really stuck out in my mind.
The first was that God used crisis in the life of Gideon to make him into the warrior God knew He could be. If not for the crisis of invasion by the Midianites, Gideon wouldn't have been hiding in a winepress. And the winepress is where he came face to face with an angel of the Lord who called him "Mighty Warrior".
The second thing that really spoke to me was when Priscilla said that we can't let our circumstances define us. We find our identity in Christ, not our circumstances. She used an example of a small, blue tassel. The tassel had been given to her by a friend as a starting point to decorate her new office. But she realized that the tassel was too small of a thing to let it determine the decor of her entire office.
That's what we do with our circumstances sometimes. We let one small thing define us, while God is wanting us to move past that one thing because it's just a blue tassel. We can't determine our potential by the tassel. It's made me start to examine things in my life that I let become blue tassels.
The best part is if you missed last weekend in San Antonio, you still have the chance to hear Priscilla this year. Check out the Going Beyond simulcast page to find out how you can be a part of the Going Beyond event on April 1-2. I promise you will be blessed.

I so wish I could have been there! Unfortunately, I live over 4 hours away from San Antonio and there weren’t any churches in my area that were going. Loved the Going Beyond event in Ft. Worth last year, bring more LifeWay Women events to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area!
