Living Proof Live Fresno - coming right up!

Sophie - March 30, 2011

For most of this week it's been cloudy and dreary and gray here in Birmingham. We've had to turn on the heat at night - a rarity for late March in this neck of the woods - and if not for the pollen that's all around us and the fresh leaves on the trees, we might think we were trapped in January forevermore.

And yes, I'm well aware that in about two months I will think back on this week and long for the cool air. Oh, my silly human-ness is a fickle creature, is it?

Anyway, since this week has been so damp and bleak-looking, I feel an extra measure of happiness when I think about the Living Proof Live team heading to Fresno, California this weekend. It's going to be 80 degrees and sunny tomorrow, and I am only slightly green with envy. Only slightly.

But in addition to the sunshine this Friday and Saturday, the folks in Fresno are also in for some Son-shine (oh yes. I totally went there. I did. I embraced the pun.) and a mighty fine time of teaching and worship. Beth, Travis and the worship team will be on the platform, and there will be a host of sweet people working behind the scenes. If you're planning to attend, you can rest assured that there's a blessing in store.

Will any of you be there? We'd love to hear from you!

It’s a 12 hour round trip for us, but I wouldn’t miss it for the world. I’m taking my 14 year old daughter this time around and we are so excited!

Barbara J. Wissink:

I attended the Fresno Beth Moore event on April 1-2, 2011 and was so blessed by all that Beth and the praise team shared with us! I had a unique experience that shows God’s sense of humor on Saturday morning. I wanted to share it with Beth, when she talked with me that day, but was too nervous to think to. So here goes…

I got the chance to talk with Beth during the Saturday morning session which made me so nervous my knees knocked together after I sat down. I was the Christian School teacher she asked to introduce herself and share a word God had impressed unpon me from Friday night’s teaching time.

I said, ” It think God is saying, “It’s gonna rain soon”. This related to Beth’s “Eight while you wait” lesson on what you do while waiting for the spring and autumn rains of God’s blessings; during the dry spells we all encounter from time to time.

Here’s the funny part. I came on Friday night to Fresno with my good friend Judy and spent the night at a Holiday Inn in the down town area. Now when I travel I am known for taking everything except the Kitchen sink along. But this particular trip I packed light- very light; so light that I brought only the bare essentials. You know, a change of clothes, my pjs, a toothbrush, and my make up kit and my Bible. I was feeling pretty proud of myself for packing so light until on Saturday morning I realized I had brought my make up kit along with absolutely no make up in it! I could have died! I remember saying to myself, “Oh well. There’s going to be over 6,000 women there today. Who’s gonna see me? I had no idea but God sure did!

Then on Saturday morning Beth came up the stairs on the side of the arena I was sitting in and stopped right next to me! And when she asked if anyone had a word to share my head nodded yes, ( I have no idea why) and Beth had me stand up and share. So all 6,0000 plus women saw me that day with not a drop of make up on! In hind sight, I wish I had thought of telling Beth about it right then because knowihg how witty and clever she is, she would have had a lot of fun with it and the crowd of ladies that were there. I got text messages later that day from people who saw me, and I shared this with my Sunday School class the next day. We all got a good laugh out of it. I thought Beth might want to know about this. What are the odds of something like that happening? I think that is just too funny! Blessings, Barbara Wissink- Visalia California
