Beth Moore talks with Tammie Head: Duty or Delight

A couple of weeks ago Melanie mentioned a new Bible study by Tammie Head. It's called Duty or Delight? Knowing Where You Stand With God, and it hit the shelves April 1.
A few days ago Beth Moore and Tammie sat down for a visit about Tammie's new study (video via Beth's blog), and what I thought was so interesting was hearing the timeframe of Tammie's writing. So often we tend to assume that someone just sits down, thinks of a topic, writes a study, and six months later the study magically appears in bookstores nationwide.
The reality, however, looks much different - and I found it fascinating. Especially since I can't imagine writing a book or a Bible study or anything longer than 1500 words. And if I did write anything over 1500 words, it would probably be about bacon.
I'm just sayin'.

I find it amazing how difficult it truly is to have a book published. Seven years of having an idea then writing and editing,so much hard work. To finally see it in fruitation must be a fabulous feeling. Way to go Tammie! You are inspiring. Shannon

Shannon— Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. It DOES feel wonderful to behold what the Lord has done! Although the journey has been long, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. God did MUCH in me through the process. I hold those lessons close. They have indeed become treasures to me.

It is a JOY for me to hear this. I am teaching Believing God tonight for the 10th time and I can’t wait for this group [of 11 ladies] to see and hear your testimony of over 10 years ago when you first appeared with Beth in that study. I have never forgotten you! God is truly a God of REDEMPTION. I am going to get your new Bible study book and do it [myself] this summer after listening to several of the sessions just now. So many women struggle with walking with God as a DELIGHT of their life! I pray blessing over your life too! You may need to ask God to fix the hinges on the storehouse of heaven — because the blessings will just pour down upon you as He continues to use you for your good and for His glory!

I am apart of a bible study group called C3 and we are about to finish the book Duty or Delight and when I say it has been a great study its exceeded what any of us would have expected. We as a group have to come to the conclusion that serving GOD is such a DELIGHT! We have been learning confidence boosters and reminding ourselves that GOD CHOSE US! We are chosen and GOD has us in His hands. There have been breakthroughs and testimonies that have come from this study and we would like to thank Ms. Tammie for her dedication to God and helping other women realize that serving God is a DELIGHT and not a Duty! We love and serve God with a cheerful heart because we know that he is ABLE!
