LPL Pensacola just a few days away

Sophie - November 30, 2011 - Comments (3)

As hard as it is to believe, the last Living Proof Live of the year is coming up this weekend, December 2-3, in Pensacola, Florida.

And listen. As chilly and gusty as it's been in our neck of the woods today, I'm pretty much convinced that scheduling a December LPL in sunny Florida was A STROKE OF GENIUS by the LifeWay Women event team. Well played, girls.

So, if you're going to be in Pensacola this weekend, we'd love it if you'd let us know in the comments. And if you weren't planning to be there but are starting to think that spending a couple of days listening to Beth Moore teach straight from Scripture might be right up your alley, you're not too late. Tickets for LPL Pensacola are still available, and the LifeWay folks would love to see you there!

By the way, if it's not possible for you to make it to Pensacola - but you're hoping to attend an LPL in the near future - be sure to check out the 2012 Living Proof Live event dates. Hopefully Beth, Travis and the gang will be traveling to a city somewhere near you!

Be a part of a Bible study taping

If you live in or around Nashville, you could potentially be in for a real treat on December 13-14. Lisa Harper is taping a new Bible study - Malachi: A Love That Never Lets Go - and if you're interested in attending any of the three sessions, all you have to do is register online.

Registration is totally free, by the way, and what a sweet privilege it would be to sit under Lisa's incredible teaching for one, two or three sessions. The taping is at The Factory at Franklin - Liberty Hall, and who knows? You might even be able to work in a little Christmas shopping before or after the sessions.

Be sure to check out Lisa Harper's website if you'd like to learn more about her and her ministry. Have a great week, everybody!

Peace of Christ

I like to use The Message in my quiet time sometimes. There's just something about the way the words come together in a way that isn't as familiar that makes a passage stand out to me in a new way.

And the other morning I read this from Colossians.

"Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ--the Message--have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives--words, actions, whatever--be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way." Colossians 3:16 MSG

It's a good word for anytime, but I thought it was especially significant as we begin the Christmas season. May we let every detail of our lives reflect Him this season!

Thank You, Lord

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody.

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." - James 1:7

I know it's Thanksgiving week and all. And I know - I KNOW - that right now you're probably making a grocery list and checking it twice and praying with everything in you that you can make it to the Publix or the Walmart or the Kroger before the amateurs hit the stores on Wednesday.

But before things get too hectic, I just wanted to make you aware that LifeWay has announced a mighty fine simulcast schedule for 2012, and if you're in the process of planning women's (or men's) events at your church for next year, I think you'll be delighted with the line-up.

So. That's my hot Thanksgiving tip for 2011. Check out the 2012 simulcasts.

And by all means get to the store before Wednesday.

But that probably goes without saying.
