Jamin Bradley has a thoughful post on questioning emotion in worship.
It becomes hard to raise a hand when you have to question it. It's even harder to fall to your knees if there's no emotion. It just doesn't feel like worship when rules come into play.

Thanks for providing these links. That was an excellent meditation on emotion in worship.
I need to visit this blog more often. I lead the singing at my church and find a lot of help here.
Thanks.
This is a big issue in my life right now. My husband and I, after spending nearly 8 years in an Evangelical Free church, have made the switch to a non-denominational, considerably more charismatic church. I can't understand why people even question emotion in worship. When people worshiped in the Bible, they typically did so tearfully! I wanted to be in a church that didn't think I was crazy if I needed a good cry, or if I wanted to dance with joy.
